Matthew 11:28-Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.[c] 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
YOKE-zugos in the greek. In English it means yoke, heavy burden, pair of scales. a wooden bar placed over the neck of a pair of animals so they can pull together; (figuratively) what unites (joins) two people to move (work) together as one.
The call is for unity between man and God through Jesus Christ by faith that can only happen when you surrender your will to the will of the Father and "COME" unto Him through faith in Christ.
“Come” in this text means to leave what you are doing and start moving towards God through Christ in your heart.
Stressed, worried, weary, troubled, confused, tired of carrying the yoke of the world's troubles around your neck? Jesus offers you rest on today.
Jesus is calling you. The invitation is "COME" and bring all your problems, troubles, tears, fears, cares to Him for He alone is a guaranteed place of rest for your weary soul.
It does not matter who you are, where you have been, what you have done, how deep you may be in sin right now or have been in the past, whatever situation you may find yourself in on today God is offering you rest through His Son Jesus Christ for His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.
"STOP" carrying around all kinds of unnecessary burdens like burdens of acceptance of others, burdens of feelings of inadequacy or not good enough, burdens of feeling a need to complete or go along, the burden of trying to fit into a place where God has not placed you, the burden of working 2-3 jobs and neglecting responsibilities at home, the burdens of other peoples opinions, the burden of lack and low self-esteem or unworthiness and on with one yoke of bondage after another tied to your neck when you can be set free right now in the name of Jesus.
To be honest, we will never be able to please man for when he places one yoke on our neck, here comes another. Jesus on the other hand is willing to remove them. He says "cast your cares on me for I careth for you."
There is nothing none of us can do that would merit us a place in eternity. Accepting God by faith through Jesus Christ is the only way.
Attempting to do good works or deeds is not gonna get us to heaven for it is through a personal relationship with Christ alone by faith is our ONLY ticket to heaven.
Salvation is not of works, but by faith. We work because we are saved, not to get saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9 not of works, so that no one should boast.
Jesus says "His yoke is easy." It is a path to newness of life with God through faith in Him. This path is a path that does not require us to carry own own yoke of burdens for Jesus promises to carry them for us.
When we allow Jesus to carry our burdens, our load is lightened and we are able to go out and do the work that God has already assigned to our hands, knowing that Jesus is with us to carry the load.
Yes, it is through Jesus Christ alone that we connect with God the Father. There is no other way. John 14:6-Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Stop frustrating yourself in trying to make yourself right with God for Jesus offers to do just that for you on today by your faith in Him.
Coming to Jesus requires a surrender of self will to the will of God.
There is no such thing as "true rest" apart from God. Yes, we can trick ourselves to believe that in the hardness of our hearts when we do not want to accept Christ, but one thing of surety is that we will come back to yoke carrying over and over again apart from Him.
Submission to the will of the Father is the only way that our heavy loads of life can be lifted. It is in surrender and submission to the Father where Jesus declares that His yoke is easy and His burdens are light..
This text is an offer of Salvation to those that are in need of a Savior. Those who find themselves tired from spinning life's wheel over and over again in the same direction. Those that have been beaten and bruised by the guilt of sin.
If this is you, God is inviting you to "COME" to Him on today. You no longer have to remain where you are. There is a better place in Christ Jesus. A place that Jesus Himself describes as one of "rest" for our weary souls. .
Jesus knows that sin offers no relief. He invites you on today to “COME”. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, Jesus invites you to “COME.”
Romans 10:9–That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Jesus' promise to every man, woman, boy and girl on today is if you "COME" to Him, you will find "REST." That is God's personal promise to you on today.
How will you respond to the call to "COME"?
Will you accept what Christ has to offer you on today? Will you accept the "REST" that you not only stand in desperate need of but the "REST" that you daily seek and yearn for? Will you do it?
If you choose to continue to carry your yoke of bondage and not give it to Jesus, unbelief will cause you to not only remain in bondage, but to remain "RESTLESS" from that unnecessary yoke of bondage to sin that is daily tormenting and weighing you down.
Will you cast your cares on Jesus today? If you do, He promises to not only give us His yoke which is easy, but He also promises to lighten the burden.
Will you do “COME” to Jesus right now in your heart? If you do, He will save you right now if you would only believe and trust Him.
Are you restless? I know you are!
The good news on today is there is a place of "REST" for the weary, wounded and burdened hearts of man.
Jesus is that "REST" and He offers Himself to you today at no cost. The price haD been paid over 2k years ago at Calvary. All you have to do is "COME" by faith believing that God has already paved the way for your salvation through Christ Jesus.
"COME" to Jesus just now!
"REST" for your weary soul awaits your obedience.
'COME" now for Jesus is calling you.
Love is waiting, mercy is waiting, joy is waiting, peace is waiting for you. "COME TO JESUS!
JESUS IS REST FOR THE WEARY! COME TO HIM JUST AS YOU ARE.
