Psalm 121:1-2- I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
Like David in this text, we need help in one way or another. God did not create us to be self sufficient, but God dependent.
The good news is that God is available, able and willing to do just that for us; help us!
David was in need of protection and guidance that only God can give. He was confident that God was able to provide for He said in his time of trouble "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
David offers us some help on today. He says "Look no further." Too many of God's people are looking everywhere for the help they need and only looking to God as a last resort. But, on today, we are exhorted in this text to no longer look to ourselves for help, we are to no longer to look downward or inward, we are to no longer look to man for help that only God can give, but we are urge to start today to "look up" to the hills from whence cometh our help, knowing that our help cometh from the Lord our God. Good God Almighty!
Look up Saints! Look up to the Lord in prayer. God is bigger than our problems!
David was convinced that God was bigger than his problems for He said in vs#2- that God is the maker of heaven and earth.
If our God is the creator of heaven and earth, can he not help us? Yes he can!
Regardless of how big the problem or how deep the trouble may be, regardless of what you may be worried about, regardless of how big the "giant" may appear to be, God is bigger than that! He is the Sovereign God.
If you are a child of God, God is on your side. God is for you and if God is for you, who could be against you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
As you daily go through life and as you daily encounter the obstacles of life, I urge you to look to God for the help you need. He is indeed the author and finisher of our faith.
When things in your life goes contrary to God's Word, remember to focus your eyes upon the hills from whence cometh your help, knowing that your help cometh from the Lord.
Scripture declares in Psalm 46:1 The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present "help" in time of trouble.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being a very present help in the time of trouble. Look up for He is looking down upon you right now.
I love you all.
