2 Kings 6:17 - Then Elisha prayed, Lord, I pray You, open his eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Lord, help us to see what you see! Is this your prayer on today? Are you in need of God's vision? Is it your "need" to see what god sees in the spirit and not what you see in the natural?
Well, this is where we find the Prophet Elisha fearful servant Gehazi. He is in the need of supernatural vision.
Our natural sight is limited. Viewing life from the natural can be disheartening, painful and dreadful. Therefore, as believers, it is important that we daily tap into the realm of the spririt through prayer and God's word.
God wants us to begin to see in the unseen spiritual realm so that we may be able to stand strong and operate effectively and efficiently in the power of His spirit and His might in these last and evil days.
When we operate in the spiritual realm, we are able to recognize what God is doing and what He wants us to do in the midst of this dark world in which we live. Scripture declares that God's light breaks through darkness. Let's listen to Isaiah 68:8-In the darkness a light shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate and just.
Believe it or not, but there are spiritual forces all around us that daily comes against us, in it's attempt to bring about fear, anxiety and giving up of hope. We are told in Ephesians 6:12-For our struggles is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the power of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. In other words, our fight is not against humans, but against the powers of darkness that can only be seen through the eyes of the spirit of God.
That is why we must be "born again." Apart from the spirit of God, we will continue to walk in the darkness of the unseen that is all around us.
The good news for those who trust, hope and have faith in God is that they are not only protected by God,but they have supernatural vision also. Luke 4:10-For it is written, He will give His angels charge over you to guard and watch over you closely and carefully.
We see this protection in this text with the Prophet Elisha and his servants. When the enemy of God's people (Syrian King & his army) who had surrounded the city by night came against God's people to kill them, Gehazi, Eliahs's servant, who having seen them early the next morning became very afraid and asked Elisha, "what shall we do?"
Elisha being the man of God he was did not worry nor fear those who came against them because he was able to see in the unseen supernatural real of the spirit. Therefore, he was able to speak these profound words of encouragement to his servant in vs# 16-Fear not; for those with us are more than those with them. In other words, greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.
Having spoken a Word over his servant, Elisha now petitions God for supernatural sight for his servant Gehazi and God did just that! ! He opened the eyes of Gehazi and in his supernatural view, he was able to see the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha the Prophet.
What is in your view on today? What do you see? Who do you see? Is he, she or it bigger than God in your sight? Pray and ask God to give you spiritual vision on today. Ask Him to let you see what He sees in the spirit realm, for He will do just that for you too.
In your times of fear, uncertainty, anxiety, worry, the unknown or even the unseen, know this one thing: whether you see God or not, He is certainly there!
In these dark days that we now live, God wants to open our eyes like Elisha so we can accomplish the supernatural like never before. As our eyes are opened, we are able to do the greater works that Jesus declares that we should do.
One thing for sure is the fact that the invisible army of God had more firepower than the horses and chariots of the Syrians who had came against them.
Whatever situation or circumstance you may find yourself in on today, pray and ask God to open your eyes so that you may be able to "see what He sees."
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for supernatural sight.
I love you all.
