John 14:27 - "I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.
KJV=John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give i unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Indeed the world we now live in is troubled on every side. Unrest instead of peace has become the order of the day. People everywhere seems to have no peace. They are fearful, worried, stressed, burdened down, confused, perplexed, wounded, crushed in spirit and on and on.
These and many other stresses have caused many people to be without peace. Not the peace of the world, but the peace of God.
Peace is a free gift from God that has to be accepted by each one of us by faith. It is not external, but internal. We do not deserve it and there is nothing we can do to earn it.
Having the peace of God does not mean you or I are in a place where there is no noise or trouble. What it does mean is to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your spirit.
Having the peace of God does not means that we do not struggle, we do not have problems, hardships or difficulties in life or that life is not hard. It does not mean that we will not have to deal with the storms of life.
What It does means is that we can be in the midst of all these things and still be calm in our hearts and our spirit.
Having the peace of God is calmness and contentment on the inside of us because of the assurance God has given us in His Word that He is with us, that He will never leave us nor forsake us, regardless of what we suffer.
The assurance that all things are working together for our good, the assurance of God being our very present help in trouble, the assurance of God hearing and answering our prayers and the assurance of God's Sovereignty.
It is the peace of God's presence with us is what give us peace in the ditches and trenches of life. True peace that only God can give.
Jesus offers peace to us on today in a world that is not full of the peace of God, but full of trouble and unrest.
What should be do as believers in a world full of trouble and unrest? We must put our focus on things above. Philippians 2:5- Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
We find the peace of God when we put our hearts and mind on God. God Himself declares in Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
We are to meditate on God's Word day and night and if we do, God promises us these things. (1) my peace I leave with you for He is the source of true peace. (2) my peace I give unto you for He is the giver of true peace. (3) I do not give as the world gives because it is only in Jesus where true peace can be found. True peace is not found in the world. The world and everything it offers is temporary.
In a troubled world, let us daily seek the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.
Troubles of life will forever be with us. Jesus promise us that. Let's listen to what Jesus says in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Need strength to endure in this troubled world? Are you in need of God's peace on today in the midst of it all? God's peace that takes away fear, worry, stress and anxiety? Is that what you are seeking on today? God has it! Psalm 29:11-The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for His "Peace" that he freely gives to all who would receive.
I love you all.
