1 King 20:28- God On The Mountain Is The Same God In The Valley

King 20:28 And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the Lord, Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

In this text, the Syrians were preparing and plotting to go to battle against God’s people. They fixed and built their chariot wheels, they made arrows and spear-heads and spear-shafts, they trained their teenagers and young men for war, they practiced with their swords, they bowed down to their idol gods and they sacrificed to their gods of the plains. Their minds were made up and they were geared up for war.

The enemy had already said that God is a God of the mountain and not of the valley and guess what? It was “SHOWTIME” between the enemies of God and God Himself. They were preparing, but, preparing to LOOSE! You should be shouting right there!!

By giving Israel victory over the large Syrian army, God wanted to show all the nations around them that He was a God not only of the mountain, but also of the valleys, and the plains, but indeed of all the earth! God wants to show our enemies too that He is indeed our God also!

Have you been on the mountain and now find yourself in the valley? “FEAR NOT”! God is the same God in valley that He is on the mountain. “Fret Not” because your enemy is already defeated. He is not coming against you, but against God Himself.

God is a God that can see us through the bad as well as the good. Israel was up against a mighty army, so they though until they saw the results of a “MIGHTY GOD”! Aren’t you glad that you serve a God who is big enough, strong enough, wise enough, and loving enough to take care of us on the mountain or in the valley?

Remember, the valley is just a stepping stone on your way to victory with God!

Be not afraid of this great multitude that may come against you. 1John 4:4 – But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for not only being a God on the mountain top, but for also being God in the valley!

God bless!

I love you all with the love of Christ!
