1 Peter 5:7-Let Go And Let God

1 Peter 5:7-Casting all your care upon Him; for he careth for you.

Letting Go and letting God is a phrase that is heard throughout the Christian community, but it is one of the most difficult actions for humans to take, especially during difficult times in our lives. Letting go and letting God is indeed the path that leads to true freedom.

Let’s be honest for a moment. How many of us actually do this without trying to fix the situation ourselves? God is calling on us to trust Him. Give our burdens to Him. Stop trying to carry them ourselves.

Our scripture text today commands us to give it to God. It says to “cast all our cares on Him for He (God) careth for us. In other words, surrender it to God. Whatever your “IT” may be on today, God is saying, “Give it to me!”

What does it actually mean to let go and let God?? First let me tell you what it does not mean. To let go and let God does not mean you are a failure, it does not mean that you are powerless or that you are throwing in the towel and calling it quits. To let go and let God means that we have taken inventory of our lives and have decided to let go of the excess baggage. We have learned to let go of the weight that so easily beset us. We have accepted the fact that we are not in control of our lives, God is. He is more capable of handling our problems than we are.

Let go and let God  to me means to make a total surrender to God’s will for my life. Surrender to His plans for my life. Follow on His path for my life. Let Him direct my life. It is a daily process that we continually work towards.

In spite of what life throws at us, I hear God saying to all of us on today, Let “IT” go, release it, give it to me, cast your cares upon me for I careth for you!!!!

When the opportunity to worry or fear comes, use it as a time of reflection on all those past miracles that God has already performed on your behalf.

What I have learned is we can not control how others treat us, we can not control the unexpected things that are thrown at us in life, but we can control how we respond to them. I believe that our response to life’s situations is exactly what God expects us to work on. He wants us to cast every situation and circumstance on Him because he cares for us!

There is an old song that goes sorta like this. In times like these we need a savior! In what times? The times when the cares of the world seems to pull us apart at the seams, in times when the children are not acting right, times when the enemy attempts to make you believe you are already defeated because of your situation or circumstances, times when it appears that all hope is gone, times when the husband is not acting right, times when the boss has gone crazy, times when the money is funny, these times is when we need our anchor to dig deep in trust and faith in God through His Word. It is in these times when we need to cast our cares on the Lord for He careth for us.

It is in times like these we need a savior, we need an
anchor, one that grips the solid rock. This rock is Jesus, Yes, he is the only One. Be sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid rock.

To let go and Let go is a continual process throughout our lives. We must practice it daily. Surrendering our will to the will of God for our lives.

Regardless of what may come against us, I hear God saying to all of us “cast your care upon me for I careth for you! In other words “let go and let God!”

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you.
