1 Peter 5:7 - 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Cast = to throw away with force.
Are you worried? Are you burdened down? Is your heart heavy with fear and anxiety? Are you still trying to carry your heavy load?
In a world of many cares, what is important to you? When all is said and done, in whom do you believe? In whom do you trust? Do you trust God enough to believe that He is able to carry your burdens? Do you believe in the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you believe what the Word of God says concerning you?
If you could only believe, I have good news for you. You can rest assured on today from your heavy load because God is saying to you "cast all your cares on Me for I careth for you". Oh what a relief! You and I no longer have to live life with a heaven burden for God is willing to carry our burdens for us.
God does not want us to cast some things, He wants us to cast ALL things on Him. God here makes it person! He is willing and able to carry our heaven load. He says "cast them on ME".
Many people today are walking around angry, confused, depressed, oppressed, hurt and overwhelmed about the cares of this world without even realizing that they do not have to carry the burdens of life anymore.
Give your cares to the Lord for He promises to carry it for you.
I believe that casting our cares upon the Lord is of great importance to God for this text is again repeated. Let's listen to Psalm 55:22 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Jesus says in John 16:33 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Jesus is telling us that we will have trouble in this world. There will be things that will try to weigh us down mentally, physically and spiritually, but do not fear, do not worry, do not stress for He (Jesus) has overcome them all. We can be of good cheer because Jesus is our burden bearer.
Saints, we must be vigilant and alert in the times in which we are now living in. We have an enemy who seeks to make a lie the truth, he seeks to discourage us to the point of making us want to give up on God and quit. This enemy is deceitful, crafty and cunning. Therefore we be be very careful and watchful that we do not fall into the trap of his craftiness and find ourselves burden down with unnecessary weight.
In this same text in vs#8, we are told "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
It is the enemy goal to frustrate you. We must resist his fight against us that causes us to feel burdened and heaven laden. We do this by faith in speaking and meditating on the Word of God day and night and through prayer.
As Christians, we are blessed to have a God who is willing to take ALL of our troubles and problems as His own. The question becomes "are we willing to give them to Him"? If we do, He promises to take them as His own.
In we can only believe, all things are possible to them that believe. Do you believe that God can handle whatever it is that you are going through right now?
Yes, we are daily attacked by our adversary who attempts to attach fear and anxiety upon us, but, we have a choice to receive or reject it. If we receive it, we are not trusting God, but ourselves, but if we trust God, we can reject it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us.
Regardless of where you may find yourself on today as far as worry or fear is concerned, God in this text, through Peter, tells us how to face the test and trials of life when our spiritual enemy show us. We are to seek God and "cast" our cares upon Him for He indeed declares on today that He "careth for us"!
Peter exhorts, urges, begs, pleads with us on today, to face life by trusting God. In other words "Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you."
Worried and stressed out? Take it to Jesus for He is willing and able to save you from all your troubles.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being our burden bearer in the time of trouble.
I love you all with the love of Christ.
