2 Corinthians 12:8-10 – Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
GRACE= getting what we do not deserve. An unmerited or undeserved favor from God. Grace is a gift. Jesus Christ is the Gift! A gift is not something given because we are deserving. That would be considered a wage. Jesus, the “GIFT” is something given to us by a God who loves us and does not expect nothing in return, because there is nothing we can give nor do to pay for it. Jesus Christ, “The Gift” is priceless! .We do not deserve God’s love through the shed blood of Christ, but because of “Grace” God gave it to us anyhow. He said “My Grace is sufficient for you.”
Saints, Grace brought us through. Grace gave us hope for eternity.
Apostle Paul had what is called “a thorn in the flesh.” He asked God 3 times to take it away and each time God’s answer to him was “my Grace is sufficient for you.” God’s power is made perfect in our weakness.
Verse #10 gives us a list of the weaknesses that Paul was possible referencing when he asked God to remove his thorn and God answered him back by saying “My Grace is sufficient for you.”
Because God said that “His Grace is sufficient for you to Paul”, Paul now says, Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths. God wants us “God dependent and not self dependent.”
I am sure God would show “Grace” by removing Paul’s thorn and ours, so we would want to think or believe when we are hurting, but, as it is with Paul, it is also with us. God is going to allow us to suffer some things for His sake to make us into the likeness of His image. That is our purpose; to be like Christ and unfortunately, pain, hurt and suffering is one of the means of transportation in getting us there.
The power of the Spirit is given to us to help sustain and keep us in the midst of all circumstances.
To all of you who are still praying to for God to remove your “Thorn”, God is saying to you and to me ““My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
God bless and I do love you all.
Tell the Lord thank you for His “Sufficient Grace”.
