Ephesians 4:26 -27 -Do Not Allow Anger To Control You

Ephesians 4:26 - And "don't sin by letting anger control you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

The pressures of daily life can take its toll. Have you ever snapped at someone out of anger? I believe we all can honestly answer yes to that question at one point or another in all of our lives.

Are you angry? Do you have an anger issue? Anger can be one of the most destructive emotions. It hurts everything and everyone in it's path.

In our text, Apostle Paul speaks to us about anger. He urges, please, begs, exhorts us to not let anger control us. For when we choose to be angry, we give the devil power and control over us.

Instead, he begs us to rid ourselves of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words and slander. Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God through Christ Jesus has forgive us.

When we allow anger to control us we are rebelling against God. We are making the choice not to be controlled by the Holy Spirit, but instead we choose to be controlled by satan whom you have willingly given permission to hold you captive. God has already set us free through the shed blood of Jesus Christ over 2k years ago. Let it go!

Anger labels us. Let's listen: Ecclesiastes 7:9 - Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.

Ephesians 4:29-9 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Do not let the sun go down while you are angry. In other words, do not go to bed angry. No one knows what a night may bring. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Be angry, but sin not.Being angry is not evil, it is the actions that follow the anger that causes one to sin.

Do not let anger control you. Rid yourself of it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. The power to do it is already in us!

Do not let anger control you! Anger can not control you without your permission to do so.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for giving us a way of escape through the power of His Word on this morning.

I love you all with the love of Christ.
