Esther 4:16b – I will go to the king, even if it is against a royal decree. If I die, I die.”
Take me to the King. Is this your request on today? This was indeed Ester’s request that day when she realized that she and her people could be put to death.
Esther had a urgent need for the king. Her life and the life of God’s people were at stake.
Mordecai, who was Esther cousin, had been troubled by the fact that Haman had intentions of annihilating the Jews because Mordecai did not bow down or do obeisance to him. Haman was filled with violent anger. In Haman’s anger, he set out not only to destroy Mordecai, but all the Jews.
Having been aware that something was not right with Mordecai, Ester sent Hathak, one of the king’s eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to find out what was troubling Mordecai and why. Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.
Haman had hatred, jealousy and death in his heart toward God’s people. Satan has the same in hs heart for you and I. Getting to the king was a matter of life and death not only for Esther’s people, but for Esther.
Getting to King Jesus is a matter of life and death for you and I too.
Esther’s response to Mordecai was that “anyone who goes to the King unannounced will be put to death”, therefore she is unable to do what he ask. Mordecai reminded her in Esther 4:13 14- “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Upon hearing Mordecai response to her fear of going to the king, Esther made the decision to risk it all for her and her people. She called for a fast among her people for 3 day and 3 nights and then she promised that when the fast was over she will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
Ester’s need to see the king was urgent.
What urgent need do you need to take before King Jesus this morning? We all have one. What is it? What urgent need is before you on this morning that only King Jesus can fix?
What are you willing to risk for your relationship with King Jesus? What cost are you willing to pay for your salvation? What are you willing to risk for your salvation? Are you willing to be rejected for righteousness sake, are you willing to be cast out of the inner circles of society just to be in a relationship with the King? Are you willing to walk away from the crowd and do what is necessary for your salvation? Are you willing to stand up and announce to the world on today that Jesus is Lord in your life?
Is your need for God urgent? Esther’s need was urgent. Her life and the life of her people was on the line. Is your life on the line? Doyou know that you will you die an eternal death separated from God if you refuse to enter into a personal relationship with King Jesus? Ester had a personal relationship with the King.
The only way for God’s people to be delivered and set free from the hand of Haman, was by the obedience of Esther that day.
The only way for you and I to be delivered and set free from the penalty of sin and death is through a personal relationship with King Jesus. We must obey and enter into His presence. Cry out to Him! Call on Him! Tell King Jesus that you “Must” allow Him to enter in. If not, you too will perish.
Take me to the King! Is this your prayer request on today? Have your circumstances and situations in life lead you to a place where you have no where to turn to but to King Jesus? Are you there yet?
If salvation and deliverance is to come into your life, you must come and surrender to King Jesus. You must say as Ester said “if I perish, I perish, but I am going to see the King”!
God has a plan for His people and it does not come without the cost of “blood”. Jesus already shed it on Calvary over 2k years ago. Our entrance to a personal relationship with the King has already been made. Will you obey and seek King Jesus on today?
Take Me To The King! My prayer on today is that this is indeed your prayer request. Salvation and deliverance is found in King Jesus alone.
Take me to the King!
I love you all with the love of Christ.
