Exodus 14:14- 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
The children of Israel have left the life of slavery and bondage in Egypt. God has used His servant Moses to deliver them and now they are on their way to the land of promise. They are in the desert wondering and confused. Scripture says in vs #4 of this text that God Himself hardens Pharaoh's heart against His people and allowed Pharaoh change his mind about their release and therefore, to pursue them.
Out of fear of the enemy, the children of Israel cried out to their leader Moses with these words. Let's listen to vs#10-14 0 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”
Are you in a battle? Are you facing an impossible situation on today? Are you trapped in a desert and confused about what to do? Has the enemy tempted you in your mind into believing it is better to go back to the world than to stick with God? Are you gripped with fear from the enemy who has been pursing you? God's Word offers you hope on today. He has some good news for you and I.
God, through His Servant Moses offers a solution to all of our problems which does not make any sense from a human stand point.
God through His prophet Moses says to His people in vs#13-14- Do not be afraid, (2) stand still and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today (3) the enemy you see today, you will see no more. In other words, I, the Lord your God will take care of you! The battle is not your's it belongs to the Lord!
Perhaps in your human mind you are asking, "how could this be?" Does God not realize that I have a full view of the enemy pursuit towards me? Yes, God does see that is why He told His Servant Moses to comfort His people for this day, according to vs #14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
What is God saying to us on today? He will fight our battle!
Are you in a fight? Give it to God! When it seems as if all hope is gone, trust God for He will fight your battle!! He promises in His Word that He will do just that concerning His people. The question becomes "Do you believe that"? If you could only believe, all things are possible to them that believe!
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being our security, our shelter, our secret place to hide in the time of life's storms.
The Lord will fight for you! Wait on Him! Watch God!
I love you all with the love of Christ.
