Galatians 6:7 - Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
Be very careful of the seeds you sow. Why? Because what you sow, you are guaranteed to reap. In other words, what you plant in life is what you reap in life.
Let's listen to what the word of God says about sowing and reaping. We all are sowing daily either to the flesh or the spirit. Galatians 6:8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. To sow to the flesh leads to destruction but to sow to the spirit (things of God) is life everlasting.
The sins of the flesh will take you farther than you want to go, cost you more than you want to pay, and keep you longer than you intended to stay.
What are you sowing? Is it benefiting your spirit man or your flesh? Who has full reign in your life? You or God?
If you sow bean seeds, you will reap beans, if you sow apple seed, you will reap apples, if you sow discord, division, and strife, the same will you reap. If you sow love and kindness, love and kindness is what you will reap.
Think of life and every decision we make. As a farmer goes out to sow in his garden to plant the fruit and vegetables he desires and expects a return on the same thing that he planted, so it is with us as humans. As we daily walk through life, every choice we make and our every deed is going to give us a return on what we sow at harvest time in our lives. Be it good deeds or evil deeds, we are sowing seeds that are guaranteed to come back to us.
God's Word declares on today that you reap what you sow.
Let's listen to what a few of the wise men of the bible has to say about sowing and reaping.
Job 4:8 My experience shows that those who plant trouble and cultivate evil will harvest the same.
Proverbs 22:8- Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity, and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.
Jeremiah 17:10 - “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
Psalms 1:1-6 Psalm 1:1-6 - Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
2 Thessalonians 1:6 Since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you. In other words, you reap what you sow.
Apostle Paul felt the need to warn the Galatians with these powerful words. He wanted them to be assured of the fact that whatever they sowed, they will indeed reap.
He sends them a stern warning "do not be deceived". Deceive= (webster) of a person) cause (someone) to believe something that is not true, typically in order to gain some personal advantage;to mislead by a false appearance or statement;
Biblical definition of deception=The definition of deception consists of using a lie to promote something that is not of value. Someone that deceives is a scammer. The intent of deception is to exchange something of inferior value for something that is of value. From a Christian perspective it is the eternal things of God that provide the most value in our lives. We deceive ourselves and others when we value temporary, material things over spiritual things. Deception leads us away from God because God is the God of truth and He will not associate Himself with liars and deceivers.
If you get nothing else from this teaching on today, remember this: You will reap what you sow! Oh what great words of comfort for those who sow to the spirit and not to the flesh.
Be very careful of the seeds you sow because there is a guaranteed return at harvest time on the seeds you have sown.
Stay focus, keep God first, keep trusting and keep believing. God's Word will never lead you wrong. Stick with it!
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for His Holy Spirit who leads, guides and direct us into all truth and righteousness.
