Joshua 1:9 – We Need God’s Courage In Times Of Uncertainty

Joshua 1:9 – Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

We need God's courage in times of uncertainty! Times of uncertainty are definitely upon us now!

The call to follow, obey and trust God in times of uncertainty involves strength (mental) and courage that is from God through the Word of God and His Holy Spirit.

If you have not yet had a chance to experience an opportunity where you need God’s strength and courage to help you through, KEEP LIVING!

Joshua is now being called by God to not only lead His people, but to be courageous in doing it. In a time of uncertainty for the people of Israel, Joshua must courageously lead them into the “land of promise” that God had promised to their forefathers. The land of Canaan. Indeed this was a great task and one that brought about every kind of anxiety and fear imaginable and danger, even though God promised to be the one to lead them into the promise land.

Let's listen to God's call of Joshua to this great task in Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them--to the Israelites.

In other words, Moses, is dead, the past is behind, there is a mission and a prize to be won. It is now time to move forward in receiving it! Are you there yet? Has God called you to a work and fear has you wondering if it is indeed God or can God truly use you? Well, waste no more tine wondering nor fearing, it is time to get moving with God! There is a work He wants to do in and through you.

To live this Christian life, we need courage. Just like Joshua, we need to be “strong and courageous.” We need courage in our hearts to do that which God has called us to do. Courage to do obey and do God’s will with a brave heart. A heart where the Word of God not only abides, but has also taken root.

Saints, we need God’s courage in the time of uncertainty that we are living in. Yes, this courage may appear to make you look like a fool before people, but keep it moving! God is right there with you! Make no mistake about it! He said in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us; lo He is with us always, even unto the end.

Courage requires us to trust God and give full control to Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

WE NEED GOD’S COURAGE IN THE TIME OF UNCERTAINTY!

When God said to Joshua, “be strong and very courageous”, we know that God would also be with Joshua and the people of Israel every step of the way, providing protection for them.

In our attempt to obtain courage from God requires us to pray, study His Word, believe with expectation, trust and faith in God and His promises.

In these times of uncertainty in which we live, we MUST step out on the strength of God’s word, because His Word declares in Isaiah 55:11 -So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Jesus declares these Words in Matthew 4:4 – “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”. The Word of God is where our strength lies.

Do you need strength and courage for the journey in these times of uncertainty? TRY JESUS!

Joshua 1:9 – Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

God bless and do remember to tell the Lord thank you on today for strength and courage to face another day!

I love you all.
