Psalm 11:3 – When the foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”
Our Answer is found in Psalm 61:2b -Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
In a world where wrong is accepted as being right and right is accepted as being wrong, what are we to do who trust in God alone? How could we embrace the dangers and the enemies of our minds and souls? The Psalmist ask, “What can the righteous do when economic crisis is all around us, mortgage crisis is all around us, unemployment is high, incurable sickness everywhere, death, divorce, unexpected circumstances, drugs, homicide and suicides, wayward children and on on and on? What can the righteous do?
According to Psalm 61:2b we can run to the rock that is higher than us!!!! Jesus is our only Hope! He is our Anchor in the midst of life’s storm! He is the anchor that steadies our soul! Do you believe that this morning?
There is another favorite one of my song that says “In Times Like These. In times like these, you need a Savior. In times like these you need an Anchor. Be very sure, be very sure Your Anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock. Chorus: This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One. Be very sure, be very sure, Your Anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.
If you do not know Jesus Christ for the pardon of your sins, ask God right now to lead you to the Rock that is higher than you. His name is Jesus. He is the One! He ready, willing and able to save your sinking ship on this morning! Will you throw out your anchor by giving your life to Him on today?
Jesus is standing in the midst of your storm, bidding you to come to Him!
MY SOUL IS ANCHORED BY DOUGLAS MILLER
Though the storms keep on raging in my life, And sometimes it’s hard to tell the night from day. Still that, hope that lies within is reassured as I keep my eyes upon the distant shore, I know He’ll lead me safely to that blessed place He has prepared. But if the storm don’t cease and if the winds keep on blowing in my life
My soul has been anchored in the Lord.
I realize that sometimes, in this life, we’re gonna be tossed be the waves and the currents that seem so fiercE. But in the Word of God I’ve got an Anchor, oh yes I have, and He keeps me steadfast, unmoveable, despite the tide. But if the storm don’t cease and if the winds keep on blowing in my life, My soul has been Anchored in the Lord. My soul’s been anchored (x3)
The billows may roll, the breakers may dash, I will not stray because He holds me fast. Some darkless day that lies in the sky
I know it’s all right ’cause Jesus is nigh. My soul’s been Anchored
My soul’s been anchored, y soul’s been anchored, My soul’s been anchored.
You crush me down but Jesus picks me up. He sticks right by me when the going gets tough. My soul’s been Anchored, My soul’s been Anchored, My soul’s been Anchored. My soul has been Anchored in the Lord.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you that your soul is ‘ANCHORED IN JESUS”!
LORD, IN THE TIME OF THE STORM, LEAD US TO THE “ROCK” (JESUS) THAT IS HIGHER THAN US!”
