Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
“Grace” = favor, goodwill, and lovingkindness, especially as granted by a superior to an inferior. When thinking on grace and what God has done for us through Christ Jesus who redeemed us from sin at Calvary, grace takes on a new meaning on behalf of sinners who do not deserve it.
Through Christ Jesus, we that are saved are shown favor from God that results in salvation. It is through this grace that we have been able to escape the penalty of sin and death. As believers, God has bestowed upon us saving grace in an abundance. This saving grace has nothing to do with our efforts. This saving grace was given to us by God through the sacrifice of Jesus for the sins of man. The shedding of blood at Calvary cross.
Yes, we have been given an escape route called “Grace”. We can live under that grace now and in eternity as long as we remain connected to God by faith through the holy spirit.
Scripture declares that this “grace” has been revealed to all men. God is no respector of person. Sad to say but many have not accepted God’s Grace. This grace through the Holy Spirit give us the ability to live godly lives. It helps us deny the willful desire to live ungodly lives and follow after worldly lusts. This grace helps us to think soberly according to God’s Word. This Grace helps us to be that salt of the earth and that light that sit upon a hill in this dark world.
Godliness is more than christian character, it is christian living. Through God’s “Grace” we have been given the ability to do just that. Let’s listen to 2 Peter 1:3-4- His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Christian character can only be built on Godly living. That is living according to the Word of God through the Holy Spirit.
Paul declares that in the last days, many people will have a form of godliness but lack the power. Let’s listen to 2 Timothy 3:5- Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. What power? God’s Power! The power of the Holy Spirit given to every one that believe by faith, through grace. The power that lives within us given by God to us.
The “Grace” of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men. Have you accepted God’s “Grace”? His Word does declare that it has appeared to all men!
It is that “Grace” of God that sustains us as believers in these perilous times in which we now live.
If you have not accepted “God’s Grace” which has appeared unto you, I urge you on today to receive it by faith.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for not only revealing this grace unto all o us, but for also making it available to all that would receive it.
Remember: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Has it showed up in your life living? Scripture does say it has appeared to you.
I love you all with the love of Christ.
