Exodus 13:21 - Lord, We Need Your Guidance

Exodus 13:21 - By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

Guidance and direction in making the right choices is what we all need. Making the right choices and living a life that is pleasing to God requires God's leading alone. It requires seeking the Holy Spirit for direction. Believe it or not, true benefit comes from following God's direction and His guidance and nothing or no one else! Choices made through the guidance of God's Holy Spirit are  are the choices that glorify God and benefit us. We need the Lord's guidance!

Israel had been put into a situation between Egypt and the red sea. They had a choice to either trust God's guidance or turn back. We too have the same choice!

God made a promise to Abraham that his people will be in bondage for 400 years and the time has been served and it is now time to move in the land of promise. The same with us, we have spent all our lives in bondage to sin and God has called us  and is still calling many out of the bondage of sin today. He wants to lead, guide and direct them to a better life.

God is in charge of all of our lives if we belong to him. He owns everything! 1 Corinthians 10:26 -  for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."  Psalm 24:1 -The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

When Israel left Egypt God guided them by a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night so that they would have no trouble reaching God's intended place for them. His divine protection was leading them all the way. Israel needed guidance and direction and God provided it! They could never make it to the land of promise without God's guidance. It was God who promised it to them.

There are some things in this life that God wants to do for us, in us and through us, but the only way to receive them is through God's guidance. He has promised us some things, but, we can not receive them apart from His guidance and direction for our life. He has to lead and guide us there!

If you look throughout the bible, everyone that was greatly blessed and used of God, were under God's divine guidance, direction and protection.

Who is a better to lead, guide and protect us? Who is greater than the Sovereign God who sees and knows all things? He alone!

Yes, there is another that is trying to lead you down the wrong path, (satan, the thief). Let's listen to John 10:10a-- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

There is a reward being offered by both. One is a life that is guided by destruction that eventually leads to eternal death and separation from God and then there in a reward of an abundant life now and a life of eternity with God through Christ Jesus.

Which one is guiding your life on today? Oh yes, you are being guided by one of the other! Your choices and lifestyle speaks for you even if you don't mumble a word. The evidence of who is leading you is there!

In what area of your life is God requesting that He guides and lead you? It is God who promises to go before us all the way if we are willing to let Him lead and guide us, just as He did with Israel. Deuteronomy 3:18 - The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Walking with God's guidance is walking in the spirit of Christ. Galatians 5:16-17 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Who is guiding you? God or satan? What direction are you traveling in? Where are you headed? To the land of promise or back to Egypt?

There is a land filled with milk and honey where God leads. Are you willing to follow His guiding?

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for His divine guidance and protection over your life this day and everyday for He Himself declares that He will never leave us nor forsake us for He Himself will be with us always, even unto the end.

I love you all with the love of Christ.
