Genesis 2:16 -17 - What Choice Has Freewill Lead You To Make?

Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

God has given man the choice of choosing good or evil from the beginning of creation. This choice began in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve and it ends with all creation.

What choice did freewill lead the first parents to make? Let's listen to Genesis 3:6 - When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

The choice of free will still rings true today. Every man, woman, boy and girl have a choice. To follow God or to follow the flesh desires of self.  God's way or our way.

This same choice to follow God or our flesh is again given in the New Testament. Let's listen to Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

God here give us a choice. His will for us is to enter through the narrow gate. To follow Christ and His will for our lives. Why? Because the wide gate leads to eternal death, separation and destruction. A gate where many today are choosing to enter through. A gate with bright flashing lights of entertainment that has an entrance sign that reads " enter here because you can live your life according to what is right in your own eyes". Many have and are still entering this gate at an alarming rate.

Jesus declares on today that this gate is "wide and it leads to destruction." Many are aware of it, but continue to walk in it's path with pride and boldness. They are not giving one thought about their future as they enter a place of eating, drinking and being merry as in the days of Noah.

What choice has freewill lead you to make?

We are being urged, exhorted and begged on today to not make the same choice that Adam and Eve made to disobey God. A freewill choice that caused them to be separated from God.

Like Adam and Eve, God has given us a way of escape too. That way is the narrow gate, which is God's path for us. The narrow gate has a road that leads to life everlasting with God. A road with a sign that read :I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. A sign that reads "come unto me all ye that are labor and a heavy laden and I will give you rest." A sign that reads "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." A sign that reads "this abundant life can only be entered through the narrow gate". A sign that says in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Making the choice to enter the narrow gate is choosing a life offered by God through faith with joy unspeakable, peace that surpasses all understanding and the assurance of eternity with God that only comes through a personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.

God did not force Adam and Eve to obey Him. He gave them a choice. The same applies to you and I on today. What choice has freewill lead you to make? Which gate? The Narrow or the Wide? God or the world?

God has clearly given all men freewill to choose or reject Him. What is your choice on today?

The choice that obtains all spiritual blessings for us is God's choice.

God's Word and His Will for us has not changed. It is still His will today that none should perish.

What choice has freewill lead you to make?

God bless.
