Jeremiah 6:16 – Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is; then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it!
Are you rejecting God’s authority in your life? Is this the place where you find yourself on today concerning you and god?
There is a God in Heaven who speaks and a people on earth whom He speaks to and calls to listen.
“Thus Says the Lord." God is speaking through His Prophet Jeremiah! He is speaking to a nation and people who has lost their way and need to come back to Him.
God loves us enough to redirect us back to the path in which we should take. He called Israel and is calling us to take a personal stand, to seek, to ask for and to walk in the old paths;the good way. The path that He has made for us to take in His Word.
During Jeremiah’s reign as one of Israel’s Prophets, the people lived according to what was right in their own eyes.
In Jeremiah's day, evil and deep spiritual wickedness was everywhere and among everyone, including the priest and prophets. Are we living the same today? Evidence of it is everywhere in our country.
Israel did not want the truth of God’s Word, they wanted and seeked out prophets who would itch their ear. Those who would tell them what they wanted to hear, what would make them feel good, even if it meant not telling them the truth.
Do you believe that there is a dividing line between sin and righteousness? God’s way and the world’s way? Do you see it? Have you read about it in the Word of God? Do you believe it? If so, you will not reject God’s authority in your life.
Proverbs 14:12 declares on this morning that “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
The Word of God is the power unto salvation. Romans 1:16- I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
If you have been rejecting God's authority in your life, I exhort you, I beg and plea with you on today that you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into bringing rebellion against God to an end.
We are commanded to walk through the narrow gate for it is the way that leads to life. The wide gate of the world leads to eternal death and destruction. God puts it this way in His Word in Matthew 7:13-14 – Enter through the narrow gate.(A) For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
If you have obeyed God's command to stand by the roads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is and is walking in it, scripture declares that you will find rest for your soul.
I applaud you for your obedience to the Lord our God, for indeed His path leads to life eternal with Him.
Acceptance of God over rejection of Him! Awe! What a great decision you have made on this day that the Lord has made.
Come to Jesus while you have time! Jesus is the answer for the world today.
I pray this be the day that rejection of Christ turns into acceptance of Christ by you.
I love you all with the love of Christ!
