John 10:18 - Jesus Laid Down His Life Voluntarily Just For You And Me

John 10:18 - No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded."

Oh what Love, Peace and Joy the Lord brings to our hearts on this morning. Love, peace and joy that proved itself on an old ruggard cross at Calvary's hill called Golgotha. Love that was not forces but voluntarily given.

Scripture clearly declares on this morning that no man took Jesus' life, but that He laid it down on his own just for you and me. Jesus Himself declares in this text the He has the authority to lay His life down when He want to and to take it up again.

Jesus could have easily escaped death on the cross, but instead love sent Him all the way there with these profound words "not my will, but thine, be done." Those powerful words were spoken out of love just for you and me.

Jesus is the greatest love story that was ever written and then lived. John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

When Jesus voluntarily laid down His life for you and me, He destroyed 3 enemies who had been around since Adam and Eve in the garden. Jesus destroyed, sin, death and judgment. He knew they were coming before the foundation of the earth to draw men and women away from the Father and He had a plan to come and destroy them and take away their power even before they came so that man would not be forever lost and separated from the Father. Saints, Jesus came to die for you and me. That's love!

Jesus plan was always to come and voluntarily lay down His life so that you and I can live again in eternity with God the Father.

Saints, what Jesus did for us is summed up in one word - "LOVE"! Agape love. There is no other way to described how and why He voluntarily gave his life as a ransom for you and I except out of "LOVE". Who would not want to serve a God like that? Only a fool!

God knew that sin was a debt we could not pay and out of His love for you and I, He sent His Son. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Nothing we can do or have ever done to earn what Jesus did for us over 2k years ago. All we could do is accept His "LOVE" and in doing so, He sets us free from the penalty of sin.

Jesus laid down His life voluntarily just for you and me. Will you accept Him on today? He did it just for you and me!

There is a song that Pastor Donnie McClurkin sings that says "Just For Me" Please ponder these words on today.

"Just For Me"
What does the cross of Jesus mean?
It's more than songs we sing, yeah
Much more than that emblem on your chain
But it means I'm free, yes from the chains of slavery
And the blood that shed won't let my sins remain, oh my

Upon the cross my Saviour died, the Lamb was crucified
Showed us love that this world had never known
Oh what love, divine so divine, true a love you'll never find
So that we might live, love came and died alone, Hallelujah

Well the Cross will always represent the love God had for me
When the Lord of glory, Heaven sent gave all on calvary
He did it just for me, just for me, Hallelujah
Jesus came and did it just for me, help me say

Well the Cross will always represent the love God had for me
When the Lord of glory, Heaven sent gave all on calvary
Just for me, just for me
Jesus came and did it just for me

Just for me, just for me
Jesus came and did it just for me
Just for me, just for me
Jesus came and did it just for me (repeat)

Remember:Pilate, the roman soldiers, the Jewish leaders nor anyone else took the life of Christ. He voluntarily laid it down just for you and me.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for "Love" that is indescribable and unconditional.

I love you all with the love of Christ.
