John 15:15 - God Calls You Friend

John 15:15-I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

On Today, God calls us "Friend." Oh, that word sounds like music in my ear. God our Father, calls us "Friend." Oh, what peace and comfort that word bring this morning to them that love God. What a breath of cool fresh air.

God created you and I in His image so that we could have a personal relationship with Him. God is seeking an intimate heart to heart relationship with us. James 2:23 says And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.

Our relationship with God is the most personal relationship we can ever have. God is a jealous God; we are not to let anyone or anything come between God and us. 1Timothy 2:5 declares that there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. We are to be in Christ and Christ is in God, it is the Holy Spirit that unifies us together. God has given us His Holy Spirit to counsel, teach, and comfort us. Jesus said in John 14:26- But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

God calls us "friends," not servants.

God has called us to the ministry of reconciliation, of inviting others into a renewed friendship with Him and each other.

Remember the song that the saints of old used to sing? The song that I love so dearly. It's called What A Friend We Have In Jesus! Remember that? What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pains we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? we should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness: take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heaven laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friend despise forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer. In His arms He will take and shield you, though will find a solace there.

Oh, what great peace and comfort God give us in these words. He is all we need! God is truly our friend. He has spoken concerning you and I on today. He calls us friend!

John 15:13 declares on this morning that the proof of God's love for us is shown at Calvary. Let's listen to these words-Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

People of God, God calls you 'FRIEND" on today. Receive it, claim it, declare it and live by it!!

GOD BLESS AND TELL THE LORD THANK YOU THAT YOU ARE INDEED A FRIEND OF GOD!!!

With the Love of Christ.
