Judges 14:1-3 - Samson Looked For Love In The Wrong Place Called Delilah

Parents, this is a very good story about Samson and Delilah.  A good one to share with your sons and or daughters. A good one for us as adults also.

Judges 13-16 Chapters - Read the entire chapters in your spare time.

We are to instruct our children in the ways of the Lord.DEUTERONOMY 6:6–7 - These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.7  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Samson was blinded by what he thought was love! Have you ever been there before?

Looking for love in the wrong place! True Love is only found in God the Father. In His will for our lives!

We will see in this text, how satan can deceive us into believing that true love is found outside of the will of God for our lives.

Judges 13:24 - 24 And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. And the young man grew, and the Lord blessed him.

Let's listen to the warning that was given to Samson by his mother and father not to marry Delilah in Judges 14:1-3  Samson went down to Timnah, and at Timnah he saw one of the daughters of the Philistines. 2 Then he came up and told his father and mother, “I saw one of the daughters of the Philistines at Timnah. Now get her for me as my wife.” 3 But his father and mother said to him, “Is there not a woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you must go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes.

Samson was blinded by what he thought was love. If he had only listened to his parents! Have you ever been there before? Do you know someone that is there right now? Tell them to heed the warning now!

Delilah placed Samson's head in her lap and lulled him to sleep. She then summoned a man to cut Samson's hair which was in great big locks. When Samson's locks were cut, his vow to God was broken.

If Samson had only listened to his parents he would not have found his self in this situation. How many times have we told our children that they are partnering with the wrong people and they refuse to listen? Finally after come to some sort of wrath or trouble, they are not wanting to listen.

Love and betrayal is still very much alive today. People marry for so many reason and sometimes, love is not one of them. Satan came to steal, kill and destroy, but God came that we may have life and have it more abundantly.

Parents, if you have any teenage children, please sit down and read this story along with them. Let them read it and you be there to answer any questions they may have.

The same enemy that used Delilah against Samson (a child of God) is the same enemy that is capable of using our children and us on today.

Sometimes our children think that they know best, but what they do not realize is that we as parents have traveled the road that they are now traveling.

Please, please parents, I urge you to share Judges chapter 13-16 with your youth.

If at all possible, please warn you children of the Delilah's that are out there everyday who are working with the enemy to veer them off the path that God has placed them on. Remind them that satan, will use what they think is "love" to lure them.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for divine guidance, direction, wisdom and understanding.

I love you all with the love of Christ!
