Micah 6:8 - What Does The Lord Requires Of Us?

Micah 6:8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What Does The Lord Requires of us? Is it to come to church and Sunday School every Sunday? Bible Study and weekly worship every week? Is it our sacrifice of our service? Our money? Yes, all that is good, but are those things is what God requires of us? What is it? What is it that God requires of us?

God does not want anymore external sacrifices. He wants something deeper than that from us. He wants our hearts to be changed and turned towards Him. God alone is the one who is able to do just that.

Scripture declares that God requires us to do (3) things; do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God.

Do justly=to be just in your dealings with all of mankind. This includes the judicial systems, who is also responsible for providing equality and protection for the innocent.

To Love Mercy = Along with justice, Israel, man and the judicial system is to offer mercy. Our God is a Just and merciful God! God expects us to show love to everyone and that we be loyal in our love for Him. It was God who showed us mercy at Calvary.

To Walk humbly= Humility is an attitude of the heart towards God. God commands humility! 1 Peter 5:6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

God is calling us to be humble and not prideful! No amount of personal sacrifice can replace a heart that is committed to justice and mercy with humility.

The response of a heart that has been truly transformed by God is a heart that is determined to do justly, a heart that will show mercy in spite of and a heart that will humble itself before the Lord and live a life of humility.

What does God requires of us? Micah 6:8 - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What does God requires of us? Jesus sums it up in Matthew 22:37-38 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for divine direction.

I love you all with the love of Christ!
