Psalm 13:1 - How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
HOW LONG? Is this your question to God on today? Have you ever asked this question before? I believe that if I take a poll on this question today, I would get 10 out of 10 yes answers to this question.
Psalm 94:3-LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
How Long? How long will we have to endure this pain? How long will God allow me to suffer? How long before God will answer my prayer? How much longer will I have to wait before my breakthrough? How long?
How long? The question on many lips and hearts on today from the saved and the unsaved.
In our text David cried out to God and said, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?”
If you read the rest of this Psalm, you will realize that David, who was obedient to God at this time, believed that God was not with him during his time of intense testing and trials. He felt isolated from God during a time when he was overwhelm with feelings of despair, abandonment and loneliness.
Have you ever asked God the question "how long"? Have you ever asked God why He is allowing you or your loved ones to suffer for what seems to be so long to you?
If you have ever gone through some type of emotional, spiritual, or physical pain, then chances are you have asked or thought about this question that is before all of us on today.
Psalm 46:1 -God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble
Psalm 32:7 - You are my hiding place and you will protect me from my enemies; praise and salvation will surround me.
If you look throughout the bible you will see where this question came up more times than we could possibly imagine. HOW LONG?
How long? Is this too your question in the storms of life? Is this where you find yourself on today? What is it in your life on today that has you asking the question "HOW LONG"?
What is it? What has caused you to grow weary in well doing? What has caused you to want to give up and quit on God. How Long? Is this your cry to God on today?
I must admit, I have asked God this question many times for many years. I had and still do on occasions, ask "How long" and then tell God I am gonna quit if he does not hurry up." Have you ever been there before? I have many times!
If our hope and trust is in God, we must understand and believe that our "HOW LONG" question is but for a short while.
Psalm 18:6 - I called to the LORD in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears.
Psalm 30:5b -Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
God bless and do remember that no matter how many times you ask God "How Long", He hears your cry and He will answer your prayer. Trust Him on today. God in the valley is the same God on the mountain.
There is nothing too hard for our God. Our God is faithful!
Trust God, even in the valley of "how long"!
