Psalm 61:1 Hear My Cry O God! Is This Your Prayer?

Psalm 61:1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

David, a man after God's own heart was overwhelmed and afflicted in heart by his son Absalom rebellion against Him and His Kingdom. David prayed a prayer that was a cry unto God in Heaven! This "cry" was not a normal cry, it was a "waling" cry. A cry form the depth of David's soul.  He prays to God to give consideration to his cry and to answer Him according to His (God's) wisdom. He says "attend unto my prayer"! In other words, give ear to my cry O  God. Something that only God can attend to!

For David, it seems that life could not get worse. He felt he had taken as much as he could take and could not take anymore, therefore he cries out to God in a loud voice of wailing and a piercing of the heart. A heart that had been broken by his own son.  Have you ever had your heart broken by a love one before? A heartbreak of betrayal? Jesus has! Judas betrayed him.

When your heart is overwhelmed and it seems like all hope is gone and there is no way out, seek God! God is faithful and He will hear and answer our prayers. We are His people and He loves and cares for each one of us. His answer to our prayers are always what we need, even if it is not what we want!
Cry out to Him in prayer for He promises to hear and answer prayer. Isaiah 65:24 - 24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Prayer is a time for us to be honest with God and a time for us to realize who is really in control of life.

In times of pain, suffering and despair, ask God to lead you to the Rock that is higher than you.

God’s faithfulness in the past is a sure indication of His faithfulness in the future. His Word declares that He changes not for He is the same yesterday today and for ever. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Jesus is that mercy seat that God bids us to come to on today in time of pain, suffering and despair.  Jesus is the Rock that is higher, much higher, than we are. Jesus is our High Tower, our Fortress.
He calls us to abide under the shadow of His wings on today. Will you come and bring Him all your burdens on today? He says in 1 Peter 5:7 - 7 Cast all your care upon Him; for he careth for you.

When nothing in life seems to make any sense, when your heart is overwhelmed, turn to Jesus for He is the only one who is able to help you!

Perhaps you are reading this blog and you need to hear form God. Do as David did and pray "Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer."

Hear My Cry O God! Is This Your Prayer?

God bless and I love you all with the love of Christ!
