Who is Joseph? in this text, is where Joseph is first mentioned.
Matthew 1:18-This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. but before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture makes it clear that Joseph was the "husband of Mary", but not the biological father of Jesus. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. He is the only begotten Son of God The Father.
Joseph is described as being from the "lineage of King David" in Luke 2:4-And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
Joseph is described as a "just man" in Matthew 1:19-And her husband, Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.
Joseph is described as a "carpenter" in Matthew 13:55-Isn't this the carpenter's son?
Joseph was an "obedient man." Matthew 1:20-But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Joseph was obedient to God. He was a man of integrity and respect. God used him to be involved in the events surrounding Jesus birth and his rearing up to age 12 where Joseph is last mentioned as he and Mary seeked out Jesus and found Him teaching in the temple.
To sum up Joseph, I would say that he was simply a man who joyfully and wholeheartedly loved and obeyed God in everything God commanded him to do concerning Jesus.
Joseph was chosen by the Eternal, All Wise God as the trustworthy guardian and protector of God's greatest treasure, His Son "Jesus."
I am sure that at the end of Joseph's life journey, he heard God say to him "good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord".
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for a Father like Joseph.
I love you all.
