Luke 1:26-27 - Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, 27- to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
Who was Mary? The first mention of Mary is in the story of the annunciation from the Angel Gabriel, which states that she was from Nazareth and betrothed to Joseph.
Matthew 1:18-This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
Mary, the woman from Nazareth according to Luke 2:39-When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.
Mary was the virgin chosen by God that the Prophet Isaiah prophesied about in Isaiah 7:14- Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.
Mary was chosen by God while she was betrothed to Joseph, to give birth to the Savior of the world. She willingly believed and trusted God's message from His angel Gabriel concerning the spiritual conception by the Holy Spirit. Upon hearing the news, Mary fully submitted to God's plan for her life.
Mary became the mother of Jesus, just like God said she would.
Mary raised her son and was a part of his life for 33 years. She was there at Calvary. Scripture declares in John 19:26-27- When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” 27-Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.
Who was Mary? The Mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for sending Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins. Thank Him for Mary who also was obedient to the call to be the Mother of the Savior of the World.
I love you all.
