John 11:21 - “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick unto death, He did not immediately go to see about him. Instead, Jesus waited 4 days after Lazarus was dead to show up.
Martha, being angry with Jesus because of his late arrival to Bethany, accused of Jesus of being the reason why Lazarus died. After having encountered Jesus, Martha spoke these words to Him. "If you had been here, my brother would not have died".
Martha here blames Jesus for Lazarus death. She knew that He had the power to save her brother from death and could not understand why He did not show up when she and her sister Mary sent for Him.
Well, He was their friend who would visit them every time He would pass through Bethany, so why would He not come to see about his friend, especially at at time when he is near death.
There was a purpose for Jesus delay. God had to be glorified from Lazarus' death and resurrection.
Sometimes with many people, they too feel like that certain circumstances and situations that are beyond their control are so bad that if God does not show up, they too may have a Martha moment of blaming God.
Does God appears to be late in your situation? Does your situation appears to have died because Jesus did not show up in time? Are you asking God "why it took him days, weeks, years or months" to show up on your behalf? Are you blaming God for what your are current painful experience?
Are you worried and distracted by many things that have caused you to blame God? Is this where you find yourself on today?
The time to trust God the most is when you are not sure of what to do.
When the tides of life appears to be high, when the wind blows fierce, when the storm appears to cease, trust God. Find a quiet place to pray and meditate on His Word.
Trust what He says in His Word, knowing that He will show up at His appointed time in your life.
Jesus did not come when Mary and Martha looked for Him, but when He came, there was no doubt that it was for the glory of God.
The same with your situation. When God shows up, everything in your life that is now dead will be resurrected to life when God calls them from the dead to life as He did with Lazarus.
Everything that is dead, MUST come to life at the spoken word of Jesus. God must and will receive the glory out of our lives. He did with Lazarus and many others throughout the bible. You are I are not exempt.
Your situation nor your condition is unto death, but for the glory of God. Speak life!
Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say on the Lord.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your path.
When Jesus shows up, you will rejoice and be glad. Martha and Mary rejoiced when they heard Jesus say to the enemy called death, “Take off the grave clothes and let Lazarus go.” Good God almighty!!
This same God has the same power to do the same thing for you and I if we could only believe.
There is a day of rejoicing coming for you and I if we would only trust and believe that God's Word is true.
Blaming God? Starting today, turn your blame in praise and watch God!
No longer allow the enemy of your mind to make you blame God and loose touch with Him who came to bring your joy, even in the midst of life's storms.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being an on time God. He is never late! Remember that.
I love you all.
