James 5:16 - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
The command today is to confess and pray for each other so that we may be healed, for the prayer of the righteous will produce results from God.
Righteous-those that are in right standing with God. Those that have accepted Jesus Christ, whose righteousness have been imputed into all of us who by faith believe in Him.
Not only are we commanded to confess and pray for one another, but Jesus also commands us to love one another. John 13:34-"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Spiritual healing, mental, emotional, psychological healing as well as physical healing can be found when we“confess” and “pray one for another.”
We need to pray for everyone to experience the joy of salvation, assurance, hope and peace of God, even in the midst of a chaotic world. Do you know anyone who could use a little peace and joy on today? I am sure we all do!
Scripture declares that God fills us with "joy". Let's listen to Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Prayer is powerful tool that God has given us as believers to use against the foes that are guaranteed to rise up against us as people of God. It is also a tool that allows us access to God with confidence in knowing that He will hear and answer our prayers.
Are you daily praying for one another? We are commanded to do so in scripture.
If we want to see the lives of those we love transformed by the power of Jesus' blood, let's get praying, for scripture declares that prayers of the righteous causes God's hand to move on our behalf.
Let us purpose in our hearts on today that we will pray for all mankind, including our enemies.
There is a blessing in putting others before yourself, especially in prayer. Let us not be selfish, but consider others before ourselves when we pray.
After Job prayed for his friends, God restored everything he lost with a double portion. Job 42:10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
Paul prayed for all the leaders, churches and all believers abroad. He even prayed for his enemies.
Jesus prayed for Peter. Luke 22:31-32 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
If Jesus prayed, why should we not pray?
If we truly love one another as Christ commands us too, we will pray for one another.
Let us pray for our friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, children, spouses and church brothers and sisters that they may live in a way that express the unique qualities of Christ instead of the ungodly qualities of this world.
God is calling us to His throne of grace and mercy on today. Have you heard Him? He bids you to come on today. Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Remember this day and everyday, to pray ye for one another. All of us have fallen short of the glory of God, therefore, we all need prayer.
Let's pray for one another.
God bless and I love you all.
