Psalm 25:4-5 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. 5 lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day long.
Lord, show me your way, lead me in thy truth and teach me. Is this your prayer to God on today? I can only hope and pray that it is. With God's wisdom, guidance and direction as your compass for life, you can not go wrong. You will not get lost!
This was David's prayer. David asked God to show him His ways “show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me for You are the God of my salvation.
In this text, David was in a place where you and I would call "between a rock and a hard place." He needed guidance and help that He knew could only come from God. Therefore, he lifted up his soul to God in prayer.
David knew that without God he would loose his way. He would be defeated by his enemies and he would miss out on the plans God had for his life.
How about you? Have you come to face the reality that apart from God, you are already defeated? Have you realized your need for His guidance in your life? Yes, we need Him. He declares that apart from Him we can do nothing. Nothing that is of any benefit to the eternal destination of our souls. We need God!!!
Proverbs 3:13 - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
As Christians, it should be our sincere desire to seek God's ways so that we may be able to know God, grow spiritually and in our relationship with Him.
Scripture declares in Psalm 18:30 that God's ways are perfect. Revelation 15:3: declares that God ways are just and true.
Let's review David's prayer request to God. Show me thy ways (2) teach me thy paths (3) lead me in thy truth. In other words, David was saying "Lord, I am done with taking my way, my mind is now set on your way, and once you show me it, I will stay on it's path.
Getting lost can be terrifying! A life apart from God is not only terrifying, but very dangerous.
Are you hurting on today? Are you stressed, depressed, oppressed, wounded, fearful, angry, hurt, feeling rejected and abandoned? Are you troubled in your mind, confused, sad or disappointed? You need God's guidance in your life.
Through prayer and study of God's Word you can find the guidance needed to rid yourself of these tormenting lies and ideas that satan has thrown your way.
If you have committed your way to the Lord, He says to you the same as He spoke in Joshua 1:9-Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Yes, God is with you! He promises never to leave you nor forsake you when you are following His guidance.
Seeking the Lord's guidance? God commands us to do it and He said we can do it with confidence in knowing that He will hear and answer us. He bids us to come boldly to His throne of grace and mercy on today where we would find the help needed in time of trouble.
If we could be honest for a moment, we all are standing in need of God's guidance this day and everyday. The enemy of our mind name satan is on the rampage and he is taking all who are willing to listen to him and follow his way.
I urge all of us on today to do as David did and set your mind on God and cry out to Him from the belly of your soul.
Psalm 34:17-The righteous cries out and the Lord hears and delivers them from all their troubles.
When we apply prayer and the Word of God to our lives, we will be able to follow God's guidance. We will see all of His promises to us fulfilled at His appointed time in our lives.
Lord, I need your guidance! I hope that this is indeed your life prayer.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths.
God bless and I love you all.
