Isaiah 53:1-6 -Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
In these passages of scripture, the Prophet Isaiah prophesied hundreds of years beforehand, the life, suffering and death of Christ our Savior who would eventually die on an old ruggard cross on a hill far away called "Calvary", Golgotha Hill.
Isaiah's prophecy from the mouth of God through Him to mankind everywhere is that Christ, God's only "Begotten Son" would suffer, be rejected, and despised of mankind just to save us from the penalty of death from sin.
Our Savior, Jesus Christ would not be honored for who He was, but dishonored. He would be held in low esteem and rejected by those who would one day shout "Hosannah, Hosahhan" and a few days later shout crucify Him, cruicify Him!.
John 1:11-He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
Oh, the love of God for His people! There is no greater picture than this one that shows God plan of "Salvation" for mankind way before He Himself put on flesh and dwelt among us in the form of His Son Jesus Christ.
Our salvation was not a last minute thought. It was a thought in the mind of God even before the foundation of the world. Scripture declares that Jesus has been slain before the foundation of the world.
Yes, it was before the foundation of the world that God saw Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Calvary. None of it caught Him by surprise. As a matter of fact, He planned it all just out of love for you and I.
This prophecy is a vivid picture of God's love, grace and mercy towards mankind. God gave Himself just for you and me. Yes, He did it all just for me!
Scripture declares that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Our sins deserves all the grief, sorrow and severe pain that Christ endure and yet He chose to endure it for us.
Our sins were the crown of thorns they placed on Christ head, the nails in His hand and feet was our sins too, the spear in his side was our sins and His death on the cross was the atonement for our every sin in the past, present and future.
We deserved death, but was given mercy.
It was because of God's eternal, unconditional love for you and I that Christ chose to take on our sins and die that brutal death on Calvary.
In the midst of desperation and a sin sick soul that was on it's way to hell, Christ submitted himself to suffering and death just for you and me. That's love!
Isaiah declares that Jesus would be wounded for our transgression, bruised for our iniquities, the punishment (beating, blood shed at Calvary) that WE were deserving of was laid upon Him.
In looking at all Christ did just to save us, it is sad to say that many today still despite and reject Him and His Gospel.
We must always keep at the forefront of our minds what took place for us that day on "Calvary" that was prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah concerning our coming salvation through Christ.
Let's listen to what Isaiah said Christ would suffer for you and I. He took OUR pain and bore OUR suffering. He was pierced for OUR transgressions, He was crushed for OUR iniquities; the punishment that brought US peace was on him, and by His wounds WE are healed.
Christ took our place! Why? Because vs#6-We like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way;and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
WHAT LOVE HAS TO DO WITH IT? EVERYTHING!!!!!
WE have all gone astray, WE have ALL turned to OUR own way, BUT the Lord our God, laid on Him the "iniquity" of US ALL.
Yes, "Salvation" was not only prophesied for us, but was made available to us by faith through Christ Jesus.
I hear the Lord saying that “there is still room” at the foot of the "Cross". Will you come boldly to Him on today and bow down and receive your salvation on today?
There is no work, act, money to be paid, nothing to do to receive this free gift of "GRACE.” All you have to do is believe in God’s atoning work at Calvary as the pcie that was paid for your sins and you shall be saved. That is it!
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Romans 10:9-13 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[e] 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
My prayer today is that EVERYONE will search their hearts and know that WE all stand in need of a Savior and with that knowledge, receive God's free gift of "Salvation" through Christ Jesus that has been declared by God through the mouth of the to be ours.
Yes, Christ did it just for you and me.
Today is the day to “RUN” to the “CROSS”! Look at the world and what is happening in it. Now is the time of Salvation!
God bless and I love you all.
