Philippians 4:6-8 -Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Worried and anxious in these troublesome times in which we live? Are you worried and stressed out about something, someone, a circumstance or situation you may be dealing with? Well, God wants to speak with you about that on today. He calls you to worry not, but to have faith in Him, trust Him and pray about everything.
Just like in our world today and throughout the Bible we can easily see where God's people encountered one situation after another that could and did cause them to fret and worry.
Jesus never avoided speaking about the existence of trials, trouble or problems because he knew that they were real. He experienced them Himself to a level that none of us will ever experience. Jesus knew about trouble!
Jesus Himself declares in scripture that in this world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for He has overcome the world.
Believe it or not, but in a world of confusion, fear, and unrest all around us, God is calling us to a place of peace and rest in Him on today.
God's command to all of us on today is "Worry NOT" about anything! When we worry, we prove that we are not trusting God.
Worry chokes out life and causes us to miss out on the beauty of God’s best in our lives, we miss out on the presence of His Great love, peace, joy, excitement and rest in our relationship with Him.
Worry adds nothing to our lives and always takes away all it can from it.
Are you anxious and worried in these troublesome times in which we live?
Jesus wants to remind you on today about how He feels about worry. He is the Sovereign God and He sees and knows all things. Let's listen to Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
When we choose not to worry and choose to squeeze out fear and worry with faith in God and His Word, we then are able to find the peace of God which passes all understanding. We are able to allow the Word of God to guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Forget about worrying and focus on trusting God. Think about those things that are noble, those things that are right in the eyes of God, the things that are pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy. Think about these things.
These are the things that brings peace and rest into our hearts, not worry of fear for they bring about separation from God in our hearts and minds.
Feeling anxious and worried? Pray, study and meditate on God's Word, believing everything it says about your and your situation, trust Him and believe that He is willing and able to do everything that He says He will do.
Get your focus off your situation and stop worrying. Put your mind on Christ. God makes a promise to us that only He can make. He declares that if we "worry not", but focus on Him, here is what He will do for us. Isaiah 26:3- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
