Matthew 25:1-13-Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
The bridegroom in this parable is "Jesus" and the bride is the "church". The body of Christ, the believers.
Are you making preparations to one day meet Jesus?.
No one knows the day nor the hour when Christ will return. The fact of the matter is that we KNOW He will return.
What's left to be answered on today is "will you be ready to meet Him"? That is the question that you must ponder and answer if you are reading this blog.
If you are like the foolish virgins and did not prepare to meet Christ and He returns and you are not ready, but trying to get ready, you too will hear "I know you not".
There is a difference between the wise and the foolish virgins.
The wise virgins prepared their oil lamps and also brought extra oil.
The foolish only filled their lamps and took no thought about bringing extra.
Neither knew when the "Bride Groom" would be coming. One prepared for the unexpected return of the Bride Groom and the other did not.
Where do you stand on this day that you have been given another opportunity to make preparations for Christ return? Among the wise or among the foolish?
If you are among the wise virgins and have prepared for Christ return, you too will hear "‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Now is the time to prepare for Christ return. When He return, it will be to late to get ready, but you MUST be ready!
I can only hope and pray that in your day to day of labor, you too are working out your souls salvation.
What profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his or her soul? What is your soul worth? What price are you willing to pay for it?
Remember, if the owner of the house knew what hour the thief would come, he would have protected his house. Is your house protected? The thief is coming! Jesus says He will come like a thief in the night! Will you be ready?
Are the doors of your earthly house wide open for anyone's entrance or have you secured your home with the word of God and faith in Christ Jesus?
Watch, be vigilant because we know not the day nor hour when Christ will return.
What role does Christ have in your life? Is He King of Kings and Lord in your life? Does He sit on the throne of your heart?
5 foolish virgins and 5 wise virgins. Whom have you allowed yourselves to be among? The wise of the foolish?
I urge you to ponder these questions today and make the decision to follow Christ and prepare for His return because there WILL BE a second coming.
God loves you all and it is His will that none should perish, but that all come to repentance.
Greater love hath no man than one that would lay down His life for His friends. Jesus laid down His life once and for all.
Come to Jesus while you still have time.
