John 14:3 - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also.
Jesus spoke these profound words of promise to His disciples. These words still yet rings true today to every believer in Jesus Christ.
After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to many for 40 days, then ascended back to heaven with God the Father.
Jesus declared that He is coming back. When is He coming? The day and hour is unknown. Let's listen to Matthew 24:36-Concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
One thing for sure is the fact that Jesus "WILL" return. When He does, many will be unprepared just like many in the days of Noah.
Let's listen to Matthew 24:37-41-37 As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark,39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two will be in the field; one will be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and the other left.
God told Noah to build the ark because a flood was coming. Years went by and the flood never came, but Noah kept building by faith. I am sure Noah was scoffed and mocked without limit. The more he built and the more he preached to warn the people, the more he was laughed at and called a fool, or as the folks would say today, "Jesus crazy".
Scripture describes the days in which the ark was built and the flood came as a time of sorrow for the people had been caught off guard, living life according to what was right in their own eyes.
Let's listen to the bible description of how the people were living when Noah was told to build the ark and warn the people in Genesis 5:11-The earth was corrupt before God and full of violence.
Does the days of Noah sounds familiar to the time in which we now live?
The "Ark" was a foretaste of what was to come. Symbolic of Christ as Savior for those who believe in Him.
Many today are living just like those in the days of Noah. Eat, drink and be merry. Mocking God and those He sent forth to proclaim His Gospel.
Like in the days of Noah, the flood came and all the people of the earth drowned accept Noah, his wife, his 3 sons and their wives, every animal, creature and bird according to it's kind was saved that day.
The flood came unexpected to those who did not believe. The rain lasted for 40 days and 40 nights and all the people of the earth perished. They were all caught off guard because God came at an unexpected time. A time they had not prepared for. Therefore, their lives perish in the flood.
What many have failed to realized today also is the fact that it is God's will that none should perish. God is not slack concerning His promise, for He will do just what He says He will do.
God is patiently waiting and giving man a chance to make a total surrender of his will to the will of God for his or her life. In other words, God is showing them mercy, but only for a while, then Christ will return.
One thing to keep in mind is God's time is not the same is our times. Scripture declares that a thousand years is as one day unto the Lord.
The point today is to "keep watch" because none of us know when Christ will return, therefore, we must live each day as if it is our last in doing what God has commanded us to do.
We must be ready for we know not the hour nor the day when Christ will return.
My words to the unwise on today, those who have been putting off salvation is "now is the acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the time to seek the Lord while He may be found".
To those of you who have been putting off the salvation of your soul through a personal relationship with Christ, I plea, urge and beg you on today to seek the Lord while He may be found. It is time to get right with God and do it now! There will come a day when you will look for Him and will not find Him. That day will be too late for you.
Jesus declares these words to those who are willing to seek Him for the saving of their souls in John 6:37 All whom the Father gives Me will come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will never cast out.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, Christ promises you a home over there in heaven.
As a matter of fact, Jesus declares these words to you and I on today in John 14:3- And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also.
If you have not prepared to meet Christ when He returns for His people, where will you spend eternity? Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people.
Remember, Jesus is coming back, therefore “be watchful” for you do not know the day or hour of His return.
The question left to be answered by all of us on today is "will we be ready to meet Christ when He returns?"
Saints of God, you can rejoice on today because Jesus promises you a home in heaven.
God bless and I love you all.
