Mark 16:15-16 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Are you doing what the Lord commanded you to do?
Jesus gave this command to His disciples in what is also known as the "great commission".
This text was Jesus’ last command to His disciples after His resurrection and prior to His ascension back to heaven.
Prior to His command, Jesus spoke these words to them. "All power in heaven and earth has been given unto me". Therefore, Jesus has the right to make this command.
Those of us who claim to have been "born again, washed in the blood of the lamb, saved from sin, heard the Gospel message and have responded", are responsible for proclaiming this same good news called "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" to others.
This text is a mandate to every Christian, regardless of your position or status in the kingdom. You are commanded to "proclaim the Good News".
What are you doing with the Gospel message? Are you proclaiming it or hiding it under a bush? Where have you put it today? Do you drop seeds of it as you travel along the way day by day?
It is imperative that we share this good news called the "Gospel" for Jesus declares on today that whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved and whoever does not believe is condemned.
Condemned to what? Eternal separation from God. An eternal life of torment and gnashing of teeth in the flames of fire.
Let's listen to what Jesus says concerning those who listen and applies the Word of God that is given to them in comparison to those who rejects it.
Matthew 7:24- Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:26 - But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
Where do you stand in your witness to the lost on today? Who or what are you proclaiming? Is it Jesus? If not, who is it? Only what you do for Christ will last.
Matthew 24:35- Heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of God will stand forever.
If you refuse to proclaim the "Gospel" to those you claim to love and care about, those you encounter on a daily basis and if they die apart from Jesus, will their blood stains be on your hands?
Here is what God spoke to Ezekiel regarding the people he was suppose to warn against sin in Ezekiel 3:18 --When I say to the wicked, "you will surely die" and you do not want him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked ways that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his sin, but his blood will be upon your hands.
What are you doing with the Gospel message? Are you doing what the Lord commanded you to do?
He who believes and is baptized will be saved and He who chooses not to believe is condemned. Which side of the road have you chose to travel? Which side of the coin have you decided to toss?
Is God a priority in your life? Then do what He commands you to do on today.
