Jeremiah 29:11- for I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
We are born, we grow up, the teenage years come and we begin to make plans for our lives and our future, convincing ourselves that we know what is best.
I too had plans for my life and thought I knew what was best for me too, but God had another plan.
What happens when we have one plan for our lives and God has another? Whose plan will we follow?
In growing up over the years, we begin to ponder on which college we will attend, which degree we will pursue, which career we will pursue, who to marry, where to live, what car to buy, what home to buy, how many children to have and on and on with one plan after another for our lives.
Most of our younger years are years of planning.
My question to you on today is "what happens when all of a sudden your dreams and plans fall short of your expectations"?
Planning for tomorrow is good, but not good without the advise, guidance and direction from God.
When God leads the way, His Word becomes a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path that leads down a different road from that which we have already mapped out for ourselves.
Only God knows the plans for our lives that will lead us to fulfillment in Him. His plans are always best for us.
God's plan for our lives are plans of peace and not evil, plans of a future with Him and hope in our wait for Him.
The difference between God's plan for us and the world's plans for us is that God's plan comes with a total submission to His will and authority in our lives. A path we must travel to fulfill His plans for our lives.
The world plan are temporary, self satisfying, temporary and leads to destruction and eternal separation from God.
In following God's plan we will end up at our expected end that God has already mapped out for us in eternity with him.
Of course there will be detours on the road we travel, even with God. We will find obstacles, persecution, hurt, pain, suffering, rejection and on and on, but the good news about these detours is that God is right there with us, guiding us through all of them.
Remember this, regardless of the detour, God's leading will assure us of getting to His destination for our lives safely.
Who's plans are you living out in your life? Your plan or God's plan?
When Jesus told Peter to cast out his nets, Peter replied "Lord, we toiled all night and caught nothing, but at thy word, I will obey". Having gone with the plan that Jesus had, the catch was so great until the net broke and they had to call for help because the catch was so great. Peter realized that Jesus plan was the best plan.
If you are living out your own plan, it is one that is temporary. I invite you to try God's plan for your life. His plan is eternal, full of hope, joy and peace that is unspeakable, even in the midst of life's storms.
When God has another plan! Yes, His plan is not our plan.
Will you get on the path that leads to God's plan for your life? I promise you that you will be glad you did.
God bids you on today to make your plans with Him and He will show you the way that is beneficial to you now and in eternity.
When God has another plan. Is His plan your plan? God declares that He knows the plans He has for you. Will you seek Him on today>
God bless and I love you all.
