Luke 2:39-40 -When they had performed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city of Nazareth. 40 And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom. And the grace of God was upon Him.
Luke tells us that Jesus earthly parents, Joseph and Mary, who were God fearing parents and faithful to God and His commands, performed everything according to the Law of the Lord concerning Jesus and themselves.
I am sure there were times when it appeared as though they were being inconvenient, especially with a new born baby, but they obeyed God's commands with a willing and obedient heart.
Sometimes the things that God requires us to do may not always seem convenient nor comfortable, but that is how God works. Our faith have to be stretched and unexpected circumstances are also some of the ways that God allows to cause our faith in Him to grow.
No, obedience to Christ is not always easy or smooth sailing, but we are commanded in scripture to do just that, "OBEY".
Having returned to their hometown of Nazareth, Jesus grew spiritually. . Luke describes Jesus as growing in such a way that He was strong in the Spirit and full of wisdom.
Jesus daily grew in his relationship with His Heavenly Father.
Jesus was 100% God and 100% human. He took on all the experiences in life that we as humans experience, including pain and suffering.
Hebrews 4:15-For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we are, yet without sin.
Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. He came to save, rescue, redeem us from the penalty of sin and death by dying on an old ruggard cross on a hill called “Calvary”. Yes, just for me!!!
It is because of God's love that was shown in Bethlehem and at Calvary that we have a reason to celebrate "CHRIST" this Christmas.
Yes, Adam caused us to fall, but Jesus caused us to "reign" again with the Lord now and in eternity through faith in him.
Romans 5:18-19 Therefore just as through the trespass of one man came condemnation for all men, so through the righteous act of One came justification of life for all men.19 For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One the many will be made righteous.
This Christmas season, please remember that "JESUS" is indeed the reason for the this and every season!
God put on flesh and dwelt among us, died for us and arose on the 3rd day and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father interceding on our behalf.
Saints, let's celebrate our Lord and Savior this Christmas Season for He is the "Gift" that keeps on giving!
Do you want to be used by God? Do you every dream of being used by God and doing great things for Him? Do you ever dream of God speaking through you and doing great things for God? Well, it is possible if you could only believe and obey.
If you want to be used by God, the place to start is in redirecting your focus on the things of God and not the things of this world which will one day pass away. Make it your desire and put forth the effort in becoming a student of prayer and God’s Word. Develop a habit of obedience to God and His Word and watch God!
Being used by God starts with a personal relationship with Him through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Allow God's will for your life to become your focus starting today with prayer and study of His word daily. If you do, He will direct your path as He did Jesus earthly parents, Mary and Joseph.
Mary and Joseph obeyed all of God’s Word. Not only God’s Word as recorded in the Old Testament scripture, but also God’s Word which had come to them through God's heavenly angels.
Mary and Joseph were used by God in a great and magnificent way. God used them to raise His Son, Jesus Christ and He grew in Spirit and in Wisdom.
As you and I daily put forth effort to do the Lord's will in our life by obeying His commands and His Written Word in His Bible, God will use us greatly as well.
God bless you all and I love you.
