2 Corinthians 5:1- For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
In this text, the Apostle Paul describes our physical bodies as earthly tent that will one day be "destroyed". King James Version describes our body as a "tabernacle" that will one day be dissolved.
In other words, once the believer dies, he or she will shed their old fleshly bodies and will be given a new resurrected body from God that is not made with hands and will live forever.
Apostle Paul describes life as a "tent", a temporary shelter.
Let's listen to how the Apostle James describes life here on earth as a "mist or fog" that appears for a moment. Let's listen to James 4:14-Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Both Paul and James help us to understand that life is temporary, short and uncertain. We live this life, we die and then resurrect to a new life.
Life is short and temporary. Death is inevitable. Death is an appointment we all will keep. None of us will be able to change the date nor cancel the appointment.
All human tents are temporary shelters.
Moses speaks of life to God in this way in Psalm 90:5-6 You will sweep them away while they are asleep— by morning they are like growing grass. In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.
To those of us who are saved, we die in Christ. Death is not the end for us. Scripture declares to all the saints on today that we will be given a new and resurrected body to live with Jesus forever.
If you have confessed with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you are saved according to Romans 10:9. Therefore, you have no reason to fear death.
None of us can fully understand the how, when or where's of God, but that is where our faith comes into action. Understanding all of God is impossible for man, that is why when we don't fully understand, we must still believe if God said it.
Saints, God assures us on today with certainty of a new and resurrected body after life on this side is over
From a earthly tent to a building (resurrected body)from God, not made with hands! Good God Almighty!!!!
A tent is often put up and taken down. A tent gets worn out, wrinkled, rained on, parched in the sun. In this life, we get pulled from one place to the next with life's issues, we get sick, we experience hurts and pain as we travel this journey called life, but it is all temporary.
God promises us a "foundation" not made with hands. A new resurrected body that will never suffer sickness and pain, never grow old, nor shed anymore tears of sorrow for God promises to wipe all tears away.
From an earthly tent to a new building from God not made by hand. Meditate on that today Saints.
God has made us a promise beyond our human comprehension. He declares on today that "death" is not the end.. I believe God!
From an earthly tent (temporary housing) to a building (resurrected body) not made with hand. A building in heaven where God is has been declared to be prepared for you and I when we transition from this life on earth to eternity.
Saint, run as fast as you can on today and spread the "GOOD NEWS"!
From temporary to eternal! Good God Almighty!!! Meditate on this today.
God less and I love you all.
