Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
This truth of God''s Word must daily and continually find it's way to the forefront of our minds. God knows what is best for you and I.
Trying to figure God out? We can't for His thoughts are not like our thoughts, neither are His way like our ways declares the Lord.
God is exalted above all. He is in heaven, we are on earth.
In this text, Isaiah calls on Judah to turn from their wicked ways and to seek the Lord while He may be found, for when judgment falls it will be too late.
Since God's thoughts are not our thoughts, Judah, back then and all of us today, are commanded to leave our wicked ways and walk in the ways of God. Let's listen to Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
The wicked who turn from their evil ways and abandon their sinful thoughts will find that God is compassionate and forgiving.
Because of our sin nature from Adam and Eve in the garden, our thoughts and ways are independent of God's thoughts and ways, therefore, there comes a time in all of our lives when we must realize that God's thoughts concerning us is what's most important. Our thoughts leads to wrath and judgment. God's thought leads to life everlasting.
God knows the plans He has for our lives. He made this declaration to Jeremiah that He is making to you and I on today in Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The thoughts that God has for us are different from the ones we have concerning ourselves. God's thoughts and plan is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance.
God's thoughts are holy, ours are unholy. God's thoughts concerning us is a straight and narrow path (Jesus) that leads to life everlasting. Our thoughts are crooked and leads to a path of darkness, destruction and eventually death.
As we reflect back at the hand of God in your lives, we will recognize His supreme wisdom in how He has led us in a totally different direction that which we had planned to lead ourselves.
As we look forward to what God can and is able to do in our lives, we must be very careful that we do not try to predict what He will do next because we may find ourselves completely off the track.
As believers, we have the assurance of God's supreme thoughts and ways concerning us. Let us start believing Gods thoughts concerning us in His Word and not try to figure out the when, where, why's, how and what if's of God. God's thoughts are not out thoughts and He knows the plans He has for us.
Stop trying to figure God out! We Can't! Let us trust Him this day and everyday for the salvation of our souls. He knows the plans and path that will lead us there. Proverbs 20:24 A person's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way?
Proverbs 16:9 - We make our own plans, but the Lord decides where we will go.
Let us daily go about doing God's will, knowing that His thoughts and plans for our lives will produce a harvest if we turn to His plans and throughts and not our own.
