1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Cast=To throw, fling or send; that is, to drive from by force, as from the hand, or from an engine. To hurl, to thrust, to put off, to release or to let go. To throw away, as worthless.
The call today is to stop trying to handle the cares of this world on our own. Give them to Jesus. Cast our cares on Him for He careth for us. Thrown them off of us and into the hands of Jesus.
Letting Go and letting God is a phrase we hear often in the Christian community. Letting go and letting God is one of the most difficult actions for humans to take. Saved or unsaved, but yet it is the path to true freedom.
We have a choice to make today. Let go and let God or stay attached to "it". we live in a world that is very noisy. Everyone and everything is competing for our time.
Everyone of us are guilty of running around from here to there in our attempts to meet one demand or deadline after another.
Life is truly filled with so many cares. Some we create for ourselves and some that are created by others, like our employers, children and family members.
There is very little rest from the cares of this world. As the old saying goes, "if it ain't one thing, it is another."
Christians everywhere are becoming more and more overwhelmed by the cares of this world. Rush, rush, rush. Worry, worry, worry. Stress, fear and anxiety seems to rule the day more and more as life goes on.
If we could be honest for a moment, we all at one time or another in our lives have spent a lot of years carrying around the cars of the world as if we could do something about them.
The truth of the matter is this christian journey is a constant battle, but in spite of what life throws at us, God is saying to us "give it to me".
This word “casting” is a sailor's term. it speaks of throwing an anchor overboard. An anchor finds a place to dig in to secure the boat or the ship during turbulent times.
This is what we must do as Christians. When the winds and waves of life seems to fierce and it appears that our ship is being tossed to and fro with water filling it to the point of sinking, we must cast out our anchor, who is Jesus.
Jesus commands us to cast our cares on Him. Anchor our cares in Jesus. Hold on to Him, for He is the anchor that we must hold a tight grip to. Jesus is the "Solid Rock." We must hold tight to Him in faith through His Word and prayer for He is our "Shelter" in life's storms.
Who is more competent than God? He is the one who created the universe and all them that are in it and He is the one who keeps everything in life revolving.
If God is able to care for the universe, our cares are nothing for Him to handle, therefore, cast your cares on Him today. Whatever it is that you may be going through, trust God enough to give it to Him for He declares to you and I on today that He cares for us.
Let us all make a commitment today to surrender our worries, concerns and anxieties to God because taking our troubles and problems as His is what He desires to do for us on today.
Matthew 6:25-33 -Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
