Psalm 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Lead me in thy truth. The psalmist desires to be lead and taught God's truth. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who is the author and finisher of his faith.
This God, the God of our salvation is the one whom the psalmist seeks to wait upon. Is it your desire to know God's truth and be lead by it on today? It is in the truth of God's Word where all we need are daily supplied.
God's truth is found in God's Word. Our obedience to that truth brings about the blessings of God in our lives.
The truth of the matter is apart from God we are nothing and we can do nothing.
Waiting on God is a call to "patience." Waiting is not what we like to do in this microwaveable world, but "wait" is exactly what God is calling us to do. Wait on Him and be of good courage while we wait.
The purpose of our wait is to keep us dependent upon God. He has everything that we need.
God can do for us what no one else can, therefore, we must be lead by Him, through His Word, taught by Him through His Word wait on Him with confidence in His Word.
Waiting on God. Have you ever been before? Waiting on God is where you find yourself on today? If so, you are at a good place. It is in our wait where God does His best work in our lives. It is in the wait where He is able to show and teach us great things.
Yes, waiting is hard because we can’t see what is going on while we wait. Therefore, this is where our trust in God has to kick in if we plan to survive the waiting period and receive what God has for us.
God's waiting room always appears to be a place of delay and discomfort. But, God’s waiting room is a place of guaranteed, unseen blessings that will manifest itself at the end of your waiting period.
The instructions that God sends to all of us on today who are waiting on Him is "Trust the one who is in charge while you wait"!
While waiting on God there are many things we can do. I will name a couple of them.
Believe God-Believe that God hears and answers prayers. Believe that you have already received that which you have petitioned God for and it shall come to pass.
Pray-get alone with God for a time of reflection, evaluation, correction and dedication.
Meditate on the Word of God. We are commanded in Joshua 1:8-Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Be still and wait. Psalm 46:10-Be still and know that I am God says the Lord.
Watch your "perspective"! Keep God in view, regardless of how long the wait may be. Never loose sight of who God is and what He is able to do and will do in and through you while you wait.
Lastly, keep hope alive! Continue to hope in God while you wait. Scripture declares Psalm 25:3a- no one who waits on You will be ashamed.
As we look throughout the pages of the bible, we will see where many great men and women who were lead by God and taught of God, His truth, were truly blessed at the end of their wait.
Abraham and Sarah waited and the end result was Isaac, their son.
Joseph had to wait in prison before he was promoted to the palace.
The disciples had to wait for the Holy Spirit in the upper room and at the end of their wait, the Comforter came in the form of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
As people of God, we are waiting on Christ 2nd coming!
This journey called life is filled with times and periods of waiting for all of us.
Wait on God in all circumstances for there is no situation you or I will ever face that God is not able to help us.
The good news on today is the fact that we can be lead and taught by God while we wait on Him.
In his time of waiting on the Lord, the psalmist of this text declares these words "on Thee do I wait all the day". Is this your response to God while you wait?
If you wait on God's timing, your reward will be great. Ephesians 3:20-Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Wait on the Lord!
