2 Corinthians 4:8-9-We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed.
The Apostle Paul here gives the hard reality of what life is like for a true Soldier on the battle field for the Lord.
Paul says we are hard pressed on every side, troubled and oppressed, we suffer and sometimes feel that there is no way of escaping, but we are not in despair. We are persecuted, but not left to stand alone. We are struck down to the ground it seems at times, but we are never struck out and destroyed.
Yes, there are times when we experience one situation right after another that does not feel so pleasant. Situations and pressures of life that seems to pop up, one right after the other one is over, causing us to feel as though we are being crushed by them. Curve balls that appears to keep on coming, causing us to feel confused as to which way to turn.
The times when the saints of old declares that 'if it aint one thing it is another"!
The Apostle Paul himself says there are times in life where the pressures of life has worked us out to the point where we do not know what to pray.
The good news on today is that God never leaves us alone to ourselves. He has left us a Comforter called the "Holy Spirit". Let's listen to Romans 8:26-In the same way, the spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Paul went on to talk about how we are often persecuted as Christians. He knew about persecution for he experienced it first hand through his entire ministry.
Opposition is a part of life. If you plan to succeed in life and on this Christian journey, you will experience opposition. Satan will see to that. He will use every weapon in his arsenal to defeat us. If we have to use our family members, friends, coworkers, children, strangers, neighbors or even our church brothers and sisters, he will do just that in his attempt to stop you from going where God is trying to take you.
Yes, life is filled with all kinds of uncertainties, but we are reminded on today that in the midst of every possible development, situation, circumstance, diagnosis or disaster, God is with us.
Regardless of the pain or pressures in life, God's Word declares that He is with us always, even unto the end. Persecuted? God is with you! Felling abandoned? God is with you! Feeling crushed one very side? God is with you! We are never abandoned by God.
Scripture declares in Psalm 34:15-The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.
The key to survival in the midst of test and trials is to not fix your eyes on what you see, but to fix your eyes on God. Keep God in view!
2 Corinthians 4:18-So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Like Apostle Paul, we too must speak these faith filled word in times when we too feel pressed, crushed, preplexed, persecuted or struck down.
These words must be our words of declaration in the midst of the test. "Yet in all these things, I are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus"!
Remain steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain.
Pay day is coming after while! Hold on! Help is on the way!
Look up! Get up! Hook Up With God!
God bless and I love you all.
