John 1:12-13 -2 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Do you want to be saved from the eternal punishment of sin and death? Jesus Christ is your only answer!
In this text, the Apostle John gives us a 2 step process in how to be set free from the eternal penalty of sin and death. He says you must first "receive" Him. The "Him here references "Christ".
When Christ knocks at the door of our heart, we must let Him in. The knock at the door of our heart is pleading with us to depart from evil and turn to God. To open the door means to believe in Him by faith and repent from the evil deeds he will expose to us when the door of our hearts are opened.
Christ must be welcomed and reverence as our "King" who sits on the throne of our hearts. This means that no other king or queen can rule and reign there because we have made the decision to allow that position in our heart (mind) to be given to Christ.
Romans 12:2-And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
When Christ is accepted by us, God gives us the power to become sons and daughters of God because we believe on the name of His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
The power given unto to us at salvation is the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8-a- But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.
This free gift of salvation is made available to all, but not all will accept it.
Believe it or not, we all are not God's children. We all are His creation, but the children of God are those who have accepted Christ as Savior, according to God's bible.
Who's child are you? Who sits on the throne of your heart? Who directs your path? God or you?
Matthew 7:21-"Not everyone who calls out to me, "Lord! Lord!" will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
Our text clearly declares that the "children of God" are those who receive Christ. Everyone has not received Him and everyone will not receive Him.
Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Do you want to be saved? Salvation requires a decision on your part. You must receive Christ as your Savior. You must believe that He died and shed His blood to pay the penalty for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead and He is not seated at the right hand of God the Father now making intercessions on behalf of you and I.
Salvation requires a decision on your part. That decision starts with receiving Jesus. John 14:6-Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Have you accepted Christ? Are you saved? If not, salvation requires a decision on your part.
Apart from making the decision to receive "Him" (Christ), eternity in heaven will not be your home. Jesus is coming back to receive those that belongs to Him. John 14:2-3 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Those who by faith that have received Christ and have put their trust in Him are the ones He gave the power through His Holy Spirit to become His sons and daughters.
Who's child are you? To become a child of God, the decision to accept Christ is your only way to successfully make salvation happen for you and I. Jesus is it!
Remember, salvation requires a decision on your part.
God bless and I love you all.
