1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.
Throughout the bible we see where Christians are persecuted for Christ sake. Some were even martyred for their faith.
Persecution, suffering, pain and tragedy will come to all of us. To those of you who says "not me", KEEP LIVING!
Peter, in this text reminds us that if you are following Christ, be not surprised of the fiery trials that are guaranteed to come our way, nor think that something strange has happened to us when they come, but look for them to come.
In other words, we are to expect the fiery trials of life.
Persecution and suffering was Jesus lot here on earth and it will be our lot too as believers. 2 Timothy 3:12-yea and all that live godly in Christ Jesus "shall" suffer persecution.
When test, trials, suffering and tragedy comes, we must keep God in view.
Jesus, the one who suffered and experienced pain beyond human understanding kept God the Father in His view.
Peter can say "think it not strange" concerning the suffering we will have to suffer for Christ.
1 Peter 4:14-If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you.
Peter saw firsthand what Jesus had to endure. Peter saw how Jesus was whipped, falsely accused, mocked, beaten, convicted and eventually put to death. But, the story did not end there, Jesus resurrected on the 3rd day with all power in His hands and ascended back to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father.
Jesus himself tells us in Matthew 10:28-Don't be afraid of those who want to kill you body, they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body i hell.
Are you suffering in the fiery furnace of life for doing what is right in the eyes of God? Are you suffering in the fiery furnace of life for proclaiming what the scripture says? Think it not strange!
It is in the fiery test and trials of life where our faith is developed and strengthened. It is in the fiery test and trials of life where genuine faith is seen.
Anyone can talk a good talk, but the true test of our faith is how we respond to the fires of pain and suffering when we are unexpectedly thrown in the ditches and trenches of life's test, struggles, troubles, hardships, heartaches and tragedies.
Regardless of what we may have to suffer for our faith in Christ, we can and will rise again if we continue to keep God in view, regardless of the situation.
What is in your view? What do you see? Whom do you see? The 3 Hebrew boys were thrown in a fiery furnace and an evil King by the name of Nebuchadnezzar who threw them into a furnace 7 times hotter than it is normally heated said he saw a fourth man in the fiery furnace that looked like the Son of God. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! You should take a shout break right here.
If an unsaved king can glimpse a view of God, I know you who claim to belong to Christ should be able to see Him too in the midst of your fiery furnace.
Even in suffering, pain and tragedy, we still have the victory Saints. Romans 8;28-And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
What shall separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus? Nothing! Yet, in all these things we are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
Suffering, pain and tragedy is an open door to strengthening and revealing our faith.
Saints, these are God's Words to all of us on today. Let's listen:Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.
What is the purpose of God allowing us to be tested in the fiery furnace of life? 1 Peter 1:7-That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
God already knows what the results of our test will be. When the testing of life on this side is over and we have "stood the test", we will receive the crown of life and hear "well done my good and faithful servant".
God bless you people of God on today. I love you all!
