James 1:13-Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
From creation, even to this very day, man continues to blame God when He is tempted to do wrong. He plainly says "God is tempting me".
If we all could be honest for a moment, at one point or another in all of our lives, we too had blamed God for the temptations that we were experiencing. Or, there may be some who are still blaming God today for the temptation they are currently experiencing with these words: "Lord, I know you put me in this tempting situation to test me".
No, God does not tempt you with sin to test you. Temptation does not come from God.
God will allow satan to tempt you to test your faith, but God Himself never tempts any man.
Scripture clearly states that when we are tempted, it is not God who tempts us because God can not be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man. But, we are tempted when we give into our own lust sent to us by satan himself.
Satan's very nature is to tempt. One of his names is the "tempter." Satan's very nature is to tempt. One of his names is the "tempter." Let’s listen to Matthew 4:3-"Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
Satan made an attempt to tempt Jesus, therefore, what do you think he will do with you and I?
Why would God set us up for failure? Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
It is not God's will to tempt us, but it is God's will that none should perish and that all would to come to repentance.
Are you being tempted and blaming God for it?
God never puts us in situations that makes us sin. He warns us against our adversary and His attempt to lure us away from the faith by giving into seducing spirits that are not of God.
You do know that we have an adversary right? His name is satan and he is a tempter. We are warned to be alert and aware of him in 1 Peter 5:8- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
When we are faced with the choice to do evil, it is just that, "our choice" and not God's will.
James 1:14- each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and entice.
Our first parents are proof. Let's listen to Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Our response to temptation determines whether we will stand firm in our faith and please God or fall into the act of temptation and please ourselves.
The enemy of our minds, satan has a plan for all of us, but God has a plan for us too. Let's listen to John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Test and trials come to develop Christ like character within us.
No matter how difficult the trial or how prolonged it may be, Christ is able to see us through it and deliver us from it.
We can overcome temptation through Christ Jesus. 2Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.
Hebrews 4:15-16 "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need"
James 1:12-Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
Remember: When you are being tempted, it is not God who is tempting you but the desires of your flesh is the root of all evil.
Remember, temptation is a test of your faith and not an act of God against you! Do not blame God when you are tempted. Check yourself!
James 4:7-Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being our way of escape in the time of temptation and trials.
I love you all.
