Ephesians 6:13- Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Perilous times are upon us. 2 Timothy 3:1 tells us that in the last days “perilous times” will come.
The days are evil in which we now live. Trouble is in the land and evil is present everywhere. Yes, satan is alive and well, but God is too.
The devil has convinced many in the world to reject God and embrace his lies and evil deeds.
As Christians, we are in a spiritual battle. This battle is as real as the devil himself. Our adversary, satan, the accuser of the brethern, the enemy of God and man, the deceiver, the father of lies is real. So real that God prepared an eternal fire for the devil and his angels.
Let's listen to Matthew 25:41- Then he will say to shoe on his left, "depart from me, you are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Until the day that the evil one is burned in the lake of fire that was prepared for him and his angels, we must continue to fight the good fight of faith, we must be alert, vigilant, watchful and prayerful.
We are in a fight for our lives spiritually and we must not give into the wiles of the devil, but stand against it.
When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we signed up as soldiers in the army of the Lord. Soldiers fight battles.
Therefore, it is time to put your war clothes on saints! Spiritual battles can not be fought with natural weapons. We need spiritual weapon for battles we will encounter in these last and evil days.
Paul warns us about being ready for the evil days which is guaranteed to come. He did not say "if the day of evil come", but "when the day of evil comes". In other words, the days are evil are guaranteed to come and getting dressed and ready for battle before they come is not an option but a mandate.
How do we fight and stand against the evil one? God gives us specific instruction in how to do just that. We do it with the armor of God, not with physical weapons, but with God's defensive weapons that protects us against the evil satan intends to put upon us.
When trouble is all around, when the heat from life's battles seems unbearable, we can stand firm on the Word God knowing that His Word is true and that it “WILL” not return to Him void. If God said it, it "SHALL" stand against any weapon that is formed against you and I.
Are you currently in a spiritual battle? Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Be still and know that He is God for the enemy you see today you shall see no more.
Do you have your war clothes on saints? Did you gird your loins with the whole armor of God before leaving out the house this morning? Do not leave home half dressed. You must put on the whole armor.
Why the whole armor? For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
It is time to put our war clothes on and keep them on.
Let's listen to what clothes we must gird ourselves with daily in order to be able to withstand in these evil days.
Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Saints, let's go out today in our whole armor. Let's put on the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit and head out for battle.
It is time to stand up for Jesus! It is time to take our rightful place as Christians in proclaiming, standing firm and living out the Gospel truth.
If you stand for Jesus, I can guarantee you that victory is yours. 1 Corinthians 15:57-But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you have you war clothes on?
