John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
God's love for us is "Agape Love" = The Greek Word "agape" is often translated "love" in the New Testament. "Agape love" is self-sacrifice.
Agape love is of and from God alone, whose very nature is love itself. No human possesses this kind of love.
"Agape Love" is the love of God that God gives of Himself. A self sacrifice love that was offered to you and I that day on Calvary through the shed blood of Jesus Christ who was God’s "Sacrificial Lamb" that paid once and for all the sin debt we could not pay.
The words of this text was spoken by Jesus to a man name Nicodemus who visited Jesus at night to first confess that he knew Jesus came from God and to inquire of Jesus, "how can he be born again".
Jesus replied in vs#5 “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
Salvation by faith through Christ Jesus alone! Let’s listen to what Jesus told Nicodemus in vs#14 of this text- Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f]15 that everyone who "BELIEVES" may have eternal life in him.”
Romans 10:9-if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Salvation is not apart from Jesus. Jesus himself declares that apart from me you can do nothing.
In our study of this text, we find that it declares that God "loved" the world.
Before the foundation of the world, before we ever born, before we ever knew who God was, before we were ever taught about God as a child, before the commitment of our first sin, before life itself, God "loved" us.
As unloveable sinners who were wretched and blind, God still loved us.
God knew we were going to sin before we did it and yet he still loved us. Even in the midst of our messy, sinful lifestyles and being wretched and blind, God still loved us. Scripture proved it in Romans 5:8 - but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God loved us so much that He declares that it is His will for us that none of us should perish.
Yes, that is right! God wants to spend eternity with you and I. The only way this can happen is through a personal love relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you are reading this blog and you do not know Jesus for the pardon of you sins which have separated you from a personal relationship with Him, He bids you to come to Him on today for He offers you a love like no other.
As a matter of fact, Jesus is calling and yearning for your praise and worship on today. He sees your tears, he knows you are burnded down with the cares of the world and He bids you to come to His throne of grace and mercy on today.
Jesus offers and call you weary ones to a place of peace and rest on today. End the fight against God and come. Matthew 11:28-"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
If you are saved today, it is God's love for you that saved you.
God's love is not based on our moral or spiritual condition, it is not based on whether or not we are good or bad, it is not even based on our attitude towards Him. God's love is unconditional and available to the entire universe.
God's love is not earned nor can we pay for it. Salvation is a free gift from God to all who would believe and receive it. It is a total work of God and not man. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
God's love is not like man's love which can be turned on and off. God's love for us is an everlasting love that never ends, regardless.
This love called "GRACE" that God offers is through Christ Jesus alone.
Are you dead in trespasses and sin? God's unconditional love bids you to come to Him on today by faith in Jesus Christ and God's atoning work on your behalf at Calvary.
Through Christ, those who are dead in sins and trespasses can experience this love and live in it now and throughout eternity.
Will you come to Jesus on today? I hear Him calling you. He bids you to come today for His love alone is unconditional. He will take you just as you are. Nothing can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
