1 Peter 4:14- If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you: On their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
"When ye are reviled, reproached, envied, insulted or ridiculed because you belong to Christ, because ye bear his Name, because ye are Christians, "Rejoice"!
Why should you rejoice? You rejoice because the Spirit that rests on you is of God. Yes, the spirit which comes from God is in you and rests upon you.
Because of God's spirit indwelling in and upon us, we are able to supernaturally endure suffering through His spirit. No, we can not do it in and of our own natural strength, but through Christ and His example He has given us, we can endure the fiery trials of life and still come out on the winning team.
Jesus was victorious in His sufferings because He depended upon the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. We can do the same by allowing His Spirit that is in us to flow through us.
Jesus gave us the keys to hope even in the midst of suffering and He showed us the way to victory in the midst of life's trials and temptation through the power of His Word and His Spirit which not only rests upon us, but lives in us. Scripture declares that our body is the temple of God. It is the place in which the Spirit of God resides in the earth.
Therefore, in the midst of pain and suffering, we must still rejoice! We must continue to give God the praise and the glory.
When Paul and Silas was falsely accused, whipped and thrown into a Philippian dungeon, they prayed and sang praises unto God.
We are reminded by Peter to be not surprised or caught off guard concerning the test and trials that is to test our faith. 1 Peter 4:12-2 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.
In other words, if you are following Christ, expect persecution! Stop acting like something strange is happening to you, stop crying and complaining.
Jesus Himself warned us that in this world we will suffer. He will have tribulations, but be of good cheer for He has overcome the world.
The good news on today is found in Romans 8:18-For I know with certainty that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory which shall be manifested in us.
Good God Almighty!
A promise of that great day of rejoicing with Christ is going to come for all those who believe and continue to run this race in spite of feeling tired and weary
Pay close attention to this text on today. It does not say "if" we are reviled, but it says "when". That tells me that suffering for the sake of Christ is guaranteed if you are truly following Christ and allowing His spirit to live through you.
John 15:20-21 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
Ridiculed because of your faith in Christ? Remember, we are sharing in His suffering. Remember also, that we will share in his glory that will be revealed at His 2nd coming.
The greatest proof that you are a child of God is that you can endure suffering. You endure it because of His spirit that rests upon you.
Rejoice on today saints for you are indeed blessed by God!
Keep praying, keep believing, keep trusting and most of all, keep the faith.
Pay day is coming after while!
God bless and I love you all.
