Proverbs 28:26 - Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.
Trusting in yourself? Listening to your own heart? The bible calls you a fool.
We are our worse enemy, let's face it! Jeremiah 17:9-"The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
If our hearts are deceitful and wicked, we can not trust it. It is not wise to trust it. It is only wise to trust the heart of God who created us and knows all about us.
A fool is bound for his own destruction, and he will inevitably destroy everything in his path.
Those who get in the way of the fool will get hurt.
In the world today, it is totally acceptable to trust and follow your heart wherever it leads you.
The world says "follow your heart and allow it to help you choose what is right or wrong in your own eyes."
Scripture declares Proverbs 14:12-There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
True wisdom is learning to walk wisely by the directions of God's Word and not by the inner voices of our heart, which is so deceitful.
Trusting the voice of God requires us to reject that inner voice of self trust by making a constant and continual, sound decision to train our minds with help of the Holy Spirit, to be wise by trusting in God's voice and not our own. In doing so, we will become wise.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 10:21-The words of the godly encourage many, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense.
Trusting in one's own way is an unwise path of self-destruction. I pray this is not where you find yourself on today.
Proverbs 2:12-Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse.
Remember, it is only the wisdom of God that is found in His Bible that has the power to help us choose truth against our own deceitful hearts.
