Proverbs 18:20-21 A man’s stomach will be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; He will be satisfied with the consequence of his words. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.
The words we speak are very important and very powerful. We know this to be true because God spoke and the entire world came into existence.
Have we really sat down and think about the things we speak each day? Have we thought about the power of the words that we speak and their affect on our lives and our actions.?
What are you speaking out of your mouth? Whatever it is, does it produce life or death?
We can use our tongues to speak life, hope, restoration, peace, etc into our lives and the lives of others or we can use our tongues to cut them to the core with words that tears them down.
Proverbs 15:1- A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath, but harsh and painful words stir up anger.
Believe it or not, every word we speak either brings life of death to our situations and circumstances in life. We benefit from whatever we speak, be it good or bad. What we speak is what we get!
I am determine that I will speak life and not death over myself, my family, my health and everything that pertains to me because I too have learned to speak as wise and not as a fool. In the past, I have seen the results of both, therefore, I choose now to speak life! In all thy getting, get understanding!
As people of God, our words are even more important. Our goal as Christians is to win souls for God. The most important factor in this mission is our words. What are we saying in our witness? Does our words bring Christ to life in our witness?
Does our words in our witness spoken to those who do not know Christ nourish them or make more malnourished?
Do our words produces fruit, trust, peace, comfort, hope, joy and the love of God? Or, does it produce fear and doubt in the hearts of others?
What are our words saying to others and what are our words saying about our witness?

Proverbs 10:31 -“The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom.”
Proverbs 15:7 - “The lips of the wise spread knowledge.” What comes out of a righteous man? Wisdom. What comes out of a wise man? Knowledge. These two things ought to be coming out of our mouth all the time.
Scripture declares that life and death is in the power of the tongue and those who love it and indulge in it will eat it's fruit and bare the consequences of it.
In other words, the tongue can bring life or death. It is your choice by the words you choose to speak.
Whatever words you choose to daily and continually speak will be the fruit that you will produce and daily eat in your life. Yes, we all will reap the consequences of our words.
Words are indeed powerful! Therefore, speaks words of life, words of wisdom, words of encouragement, words of hope, words of peace and most of all, words of the spirit of God.
