THIS MESSAGE GIVEN TO ME BY GOD ON TODAY IS A CLARION CALL. A CALL TO SALVATION, A CALL TO TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS AND SEEK THE LORD NOW WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND. WHY? BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL AND THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES ARE SHORT.
Job 14:5-You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.
In this text Job gives us a sneak preview as he looks upon the condition of man and the brevity of human life. Short it is indeed in comparison to eternity is how Job view's the life of humanity.
Job 14:1-Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
The number of days we all shall live is already appointed by God. Therefore, we should take advantage of every moment of life by living as wise and not as fools.
The number we do not know, but God knows. Scripture declares that He has already decided our days here on earth and none of us will live a minute longer.
In other words, the days of our life is already fixed by God. We can not die sooner, nor live longer than the number of days God has determined we should.
When God calls our name in death, when God requires of our soul, no one has power over God to keep it a minute longer.
Life is indeed short and filled with swift transition. Here today and gone tomorrow.
As a matter of fact James describes life this way in James 4:14b-Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone.
Because life is short and our days are number, our daily prayer should include the petition of "wisdom" from God on how to live this short life He has given us.
Psalm 39:4-"Teach me, O LORD, about the end of my life. Teach me about the number of days I have left so that I may know how temporary my life is.
Psalm 90:12-Teach us to number each of our days so that we may grow in wisdom.
It is God's will that none should perish, but that all would come to repentance through Christ Jesus.
We should ponder our sins against God and then repent and seek Him for forgiveness for life is indeed short. Here today and gone tomorrow.
Take a moment to reflect on some of the people you knew and loved growing up as a child that you thought would still be here today but have transitioned from earth to eternity. I know without a doubt it seems like it was just yesterday that they were here. That is just how short life is!
God wants us to enter into a personal relationship with Him. We were created for His purpose and His glory.
Genesis 1:27-- So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Ephesians 2:10-For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
I want to remind you of a few facts of life. (1) Life is short. (2) Life is a "Gift" of God. (3) Life has a time limit. (4) Death is certain to happen. It is unavoidable. Death is an appointment that we all will keep, regardless of who we are. None will escape this appointment!
Hebrews 9:27-And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
When life on this side ends, every hope of salvation is over. The opportunity for salvation will be no more for you. Who we are when we die will be who we are in eternity.
Sad to say, but many are living a life of eat, drink and be merry with no thought of the eternal destination of their souls.
If you die unjustified and uncleansed from your sins by the Blood of Jesus Christ, you will remain in that lost state, in Hell for all eternity. There is no hope of getting to Heaven for anyone who dies without Christ.
What are you doing with the gift called "Life" that God has given unto you? How are you spending your time here on earth? Have you truly realized the brevity of your life?
God alone knows how many days, how many months, we have left before we die. That’s why scripture declares in Amos 4:12- “Prepare to meet thy God.”
Now is the time to come to Christ and be cleansed from our sins and all unrighteousness by His blood before death catches you off guard.
All of our days here on earth are numbered. What are you doing with yours?
